The food was mediocre and the staff were polite some of the time and the bar man was rude. This pub used to be good but since it has been bought out by the rich people in the area they have turned it into a high priced pub ( although the drinks drinks are reasonably priced). Not a family pub.

Stunning place. Made to feel very welcome by manager and barman, and had a good old chat about the history of hotel and village. Inside has lovely period features and charm. Believe it's just been purchased recently and completely refurbished, you can tell the new management really care. Food was absolutely stunning. Service has been great by all the staff. Thoroughly recommend.

We entertained 18 friends and family last Saturday in the function room with great success . The food and service was very good with a special mention for Gabrielle who was extremely easy to deal with and very attentive from the booking to and including the actual event . We used to frequent this pub before covid and will certainly be going again . The refurbishment is excellent . Julie Paine

We love this place! The staff and management are so customer orientated and the chef has wonderful ideas with food.Our last visit was with a party of 3 and the team were so thoughtful with the seating arrangements.The fish dishes here are beautifully cooked and it's so nice to see whole fish on the menu and usual things such as skate wing (fabulous by the way!)Prices are very reasonable too and it can be both a casual dining or full on dress up for dinner experience. A great asset to the Cheddar Valley!

The George inn is a lovely friendly pub, we called in for steak meal, the two girls serving were very polite. We ordered two steak meals, both medium. Unfortunately both steaks were well done, mine was a thin steak and very well done. Both steaks were tasty but dry. The waitress said the chef would cook us another steak but we declined as we didn't want to wait. If you love a well done steak then you would be very happy with what we had, just a shame we didn't get what we ordered.

Chose to go here last night for food and had a great time. Staff were all very friendly, welcoming and accommodating and the service was fast. Gabriel who waited for us was kind and helpful and the lady who also helped us was brilliant to.

Gorgeous food and very lovely pub. Nice bar area as well as dining areas plus outside space and car park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Lovely people and nice clean room. Church bells ring every 15 mins during the night which could be a problem if your in room 5 and a light sleeper. Had a lovely meal and great breakfast
