Midshires Way Campsite and Alpaca Farm

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in our motorhome. We will go back as we enjoyed our stay very much. It's one of the best sites we've ever used.First, we would like to thank the owners for allowing us to arrive very late on our first night. We had a number of things which delayed our departure from home, including the illness of an elderly relative.Second, we had our two elderly dogs with us and the site was good for them. It has a dog walk and an exercise area.It's a very clean, ordered and well run site with water and electricity at each pitch. The campervan amenities are very good with chemical toilet, waste water and rubbish bins conveniently sited near the entrance.The toilet and showers are very clean and tidy.The owners were very friendly and helpful.The site is well sited to visit Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Derby. The nearby village of East Leake is lovely with many independent shops.Definitely we'll go back.

well I read that there was underfloor heating in the shower room/toilet.hhhhmmm perhaps it was just not turned onAccess to the shower block was impossible for me on my Disability scooter. because of slate chippings and just as difficult to walk on.further we stayed for a few nights and noticed the bins in the toilet block not emptied for at least a couple of days.let alone floor mopping.The greeting (if you can call it that was very poor to say the least.)grumpy lady not very welcoming at all.We had booked on pitch 8,and mentioned it, and told in a very short manner !well you are on 7.!!! back to the toilet block .I mention cracked tiles ,mold around the base of shower screen.grubby would best describe it to be honest.what a shame we where really looking forward to this site,but what a let down,needless to say I am sure we shall not visit again The worst site we have stayed on in over 30 years.

We came down for a wedding a willow marsh farm & stayed here for the weekend in a camping lodge & it was great, very clean & relaxing. It had pretty much everything we needed bar from an iron so we brought one with us. Lovely finishing touches. Would definitely recommend.We also managed to get Ubers no problem.

Welcoming, accommodating staff, lovely campsite with horses and alpacas. Nice and green and pitches well spaced. Shower and toilet facilities modern and clean. Brandon nice bloke.

The site and the Lodges are fabulous but many very restrictive rules and CCTV to ensure you are not breaking them. Our biggest disappointment was that it said on the website that visitors were more than welcome" and we had arranged for a friend who lives an hour and a half away

Booked a weekend away for our wedding anniversary, and wanted somewhere quiet to relax and reboot and what can be better than waking up, stepping outside to fresh air, green grass, horses and alpacas. The glamping lodges are excellent, well designed inside and out with everything you need. Breakfast hampers were perfect with good quality products. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.

We had an absolutely outstanding vacation! The glamping pod was beautiful and well kitted out with everything we could ask for. The alpacas were fun to watch and we even enjoyed the plane spotting! The breakfast hamper was well worth it and we appreciated the attention to detail. A lovely, peaceful ambience surrounds the place and left us feeling very relaxed and refreshed. We can’t wait to return for a longer stay.

Booked for 4 nights and extended the stay for an extra night. Stunning glamping pod, well appointed interior and so comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back! Worthy winners of 4 in a bed.

Ideal tourer site for Nottingham and East Midlands.Under flight path to East Midlands Airport but more fascinating than annoying.Brilliant wash facilities - two full bathrooms each with shower, toilet and wash basin, underfloor heating!Very slight slope across pitches so come prepared.Alpaca farm, fun for kids to meet.
