The Help Group

We needed to arrange care at short notice for my elderly father after he suddenly became immobile. We engaged The Help and they provided care for him which enable him to see out his last year of life at home, in accordance with his wishes. They were always willing to flex the care to meet our wishes, and what we appreciated most was having a small team of carers who got to know and understand my father's needs and wishes. It enabled my sister and I to have the occasional break knowing that he was in safe hands. From our experience, I am happy to recommend them.

We had greatly looked forward to our mother’s return home from a lengthy stay in hospital following a stroke. We appointed The Help to provide a live-in carer to support mum. We did not meet the carer and her resume came to us very late in the process, in fact just a couple of days before they were due to start. This caused concern but we were assured that they were lovely and would arrive with us on the day mum came home. The communication from The Help was somewhat lacking in the final stages of the process but the carer did arrive on the due day. Unfortunately the carer so ‘carefully chosen’ and matched for mum’s needs’ was completely inappropriate, not addressing mum by name or having any sort of bedside manner. We had a disappointing experience and didn’t continue using their services.

It took a while for us to decide as a family how we would care for our mother, as her health declined and she required 24/7 assistance. Once my brother found The Help Group everything slotted into place. They have co-ordinated good quality 1:1 care for Mum by dedicated carers who help with all aspects of daily living. Victoria and Katherine have gone the extra mile to provide continuity and reassurance with telephone calls, rotas and forward planning which gives us the confidence to keep our Mum in her own home where she is happiest.

Such an amazing team, we desperately needed help with sourcing a house keeper, The Help is just what I needed. It gives me piece of mind knowing my home is so well cared for and gives me so much more valuable time to spend with my family. A very grateful and happy customer.
