Nice busy wee cafe/ bakery, reasonable prices

I didn't think it was possible leaving a cheap bakery disappointed!The food was fine, standard bakery stuff like Greggs or Wilds but the attitude if the staff and hygiene issues meant we'll never return.The old lady serving us was extremely rude and unpolite, one of the most miserable people I've met in Scotland. Muttering as we asked her a couple questions about the food and prices. Me and her both watched a wasp crawl over the three iced fingers in the cabinet. She then asked us what type of iced finger we wanted with our kids meal. I said we don't want any of them, a wasp has been crawling on them, to which she replied 'jesus' under her breath and didn't offer any replacement for the iced bun yet still charged us full price. One of the few times I think replacing an independent bakery with a Greggs would be the best thing!

Very good range of food from cold filled rolls to hot rolls and bakery! Hot soups and excellent quiche's! Lovely breads and cakes along with excellent coffee's! Reasonable prices and great service in all the branches! Highly recommended!

Lovely tastie products good prices too

Food is amazing and the staff are so friendly. Whenever we are in castle Douglas we sit into eat and take food home aswell. The food is fresh, tastes good and not at all greasy. Sausage rolls and scotch pies are our family favourite. Our friends love it when we have came for the day because we always take cake home. A must visit place for everyone including families.

Had lunch again in the Marchbank today and not disappointed. Delicious soup - hot, thick and not too salty, and the roll tasted just the way a good Scottish morning roll should taste. I bought some potato scones and tried one when I got home, verdict.... The best potato scone I've ever had!

What a joke this place should just shut down I just paid for a chicken rap with chip and the chips are soaked in grease and chicken was freezen and it cost £6.20 then enay others time some write dried out £2.80 stake pie and even a good one isn't worth that you can get the same pie hot for 1.50 at other places out of cd

Nice food friendly staff. Only downside is there are too many tables so people were falling onto us trying to sit down.

Had a coffee and tea with a Chelsea bun that we shared. Very enjoyable, even bought a cake to take away. Both the cafe and the shop were very busy which is always a good sign. Couldn't believe how reasonable the price was. Will certainly visit again.

Their coronation chicken is to die for, creamy and not too spicy. The staff are always quick and helpful. Only niggle is sorting a better system to be able to place orders for collection if in a rush - twice I've tried to call and the phone hasn't worked
