Selina Birmingham

The stay itself was okay. However, 2 months after my visit I found them to have taken a completely unauthorised payment for 1.5x my hotel fare after I paid over the phone. This has still not been resolved and today I discovered that instead of refunding this amount, they charged the same amount again. Seriously concerning handling of credit card information, be extremely careful.

The location was a bit far from the City Centre and the area was dodgy, prefer not the walk alone at night.However, I was impressed by the hostel itself. I booked a private room with a shared bathroom but eventually, the room is ensuite. Also, the entire room is large and clean.Although some facilities are damaged eg the shower door can't close properly and some screws fall off from the table. Which are minor problems to me.I mostly appreciated about the staff who are extremely helpful and nice, especially an asian lady receptionist on the first day of my arrival.

Dormitories and beds are stunning, it's great I have my own personal lamp, shelf, plug and Sockets. The showers are bit cold and disappointed in that. The staff are warm and friendly.

Exceptional Hostel , Beautiful Lounge Area, Amazing Vibe, Hygienic Rooms, Serene Beds, Very Polite and Helpful Manager named Dianna is an asset to this hostel .

Gives you a free cocktail voucher on arrival then says the person isn't there to make them and it isn't valid, a substitute of coffee offered which isn't good enough, this was from the manager. At least a beer out of the fridge would be a good substitute.Water in shower is hardly warm and the heater doesn't work, no ventilation in the room either.

Enjoyed a great one-night stay at Selina in Birmingham. Conveniently located 0.3 miles from the city center, easy to find on the main street. Reception staff was kind, though entering card details seemed a bit odd. Impressed by the lobby, food, and drink options. Nearby club and indoor hiking. Safety was reassuring, and the room had a quality duvet and bedding.definately wouldn't recommend dormitory rooms if you're claustrophobic. But overall,beautifully decorated throughout the property. Will recommend to colleagues and plan to visit again.

This is a super nice hostel because of the small things they do. They provide a free towel, lot's of cute common areas to relax and work, provide nice shampoo and conditioner, ensuite bathrooms, free luggage storage, piano in common area, 2 stack bunk beds (3 is too much imo), free infused water.These details really make this one of my favorite hostels. Selina was very not crowded and well decorated which reduced my stress as opposed to other hostels where I feel like I'm in a homeless shelter.Seems like mostly young adults come here.Neighborhood seems safe enough.

The hostel is good. Room was comfy. We were given a complementary cocktail to have at the bar. Location is ok, looks a little bit sketchy from outside but it was safe. 10 minutes walk from/ to the centre of the city.
