Ocean Mist

Amazing place, I have stayed in 5* hotels all over the world but Ocean Mist was the best! The location is superb, great local restaurants and transport in a lovely setting, the hotel is unique being a old ship which has been lovingly restored in painstaking detail to provide fantastic rooms and spaces but the best of all was the staff who were truly incredible, enthusiastic about the hotel and committed to giving the very best experience. I just keep coming back! Thank you for such fantastic service.

We have just spent a couple of nights on the Ocean Mist and we couldn’t fault anything from start to finish.The staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.Our room was clean and comfortable, the bed was that comfortable that we ended up having breakfast later than expected as we just didn’t want to get up! Definitely the best sleep we’ve ever had.The heating and air con system is very good, as is the internet connection.Good selection of teas and coffee, plus some bottled water.Lovely toiletries from Arran Aromatics.A very good selection at the continental breakfast each morning too.It was lovely to be able to sit outside with a drink and watch everyone going about their day.I did try to think of anything that was wrong and there was nothing! Everything was more than 10/10.We are already booked again for next year.

This is a great boutique hotel. The rooms are well-appointed.The service was fantastic. Toni and Rachel were great during breakfast service. Daniel was very helpful prior to our arrival by answering our questions.Iris took friendly service to the next level. Alfonso was simply the best. He welcomed us with a genuine warmth that I have never experienced at a hotel.If we get to visit Edinburgh again, we will be staying at the Ocean Mist because of Alfonso and Iris. You can't beat that level of service and attention.The only downside to the hotel is that it is a bit far from the city center. However, there are plenty of transportation modes to get you were you need to go. The hotel is located in a wonderful up-and-coming neighborhood with great food and drink options.

Amazing family run business run by a family who is passionate about the business. What more can I say? The rooms were excellent. With a remarkable attention to detail. After spending all day exploring Edinburgh, I came back to the hotel tired and sore. They not only had an amazing tea selection (the Earl Grey was one of the best I've had) and the bed was quite comfortable. The room was so quiet that it allowed us to fully relax after the hustle and bustle of a day exploring. Staff were very welcoming upon arrival and remembered our names when we returned.

One of the most incredible hotel experiences in my life. The boat is a jump into the past, with its luxurious details all around. The breakfast was fantastic and the service helpful and genuinely happy to help. A special thanks to Alfonso, who made our stay even better! When in Edinburgh, I’ll be back here.

The hotel is located in a ship with a varied history - used during wartimes, but also for trade, then for a playboy‘s party life, it had been left unused for many years before the current owners restored it. Hotel rooms are designed as cabins with en-suite bathrooms, breakfast and drinks are served in the upper deck. We loved the design of the rooms and common areas - high quality and nicely classic without any kitsch.Service was impeccable, and while breakfast was rather simple, the bar served very creative cocktails. Certainly a very unique experience!

I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful stay here. Your family-run hotel boat is truly exceptional. I had an amazing sleep, enjoyed the picturesque views from the bar and breakfast area, and the helpful staff made my stay even more delightful. Thank you for the warm hospitality. The best hotel I’ve stayed in. So tastefully decorated, the atmosphere is wonderful. The rooms are beautiful; the attention to detail is second to none. The staff were phenomenal, so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Ocean Mist will always have a special place in our hearts - particularly seeing as my partner and I got engaged on board!

Amazing hotel. Such a fabulous family run business with such beautiful attention to detail. Do ask Albert about the renovation. Bed was so comfy. Excellent thread count. We loved it.
