Very pleasent grounds and nice cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of food and drink available in the cafe, welcoming to cyclists as well as horse riders.

Great tour for all who love horses/racing. The town of Newmarket itself is vibrant and especially designed with road crossings just for horses and jockeys - not something we expected. The tour lasted all day and was great value for money. We ended our tour with free entry to the Racecourse and a VIP to the parade ring.We saw the late Queens private room where she used to watch her horses race. The National Stud was so interesting and of course we saw some top stud horses and some great brood mares. We were also treated to a VIP spot on the early morning gallops where we were able to watch several strings of horses owned by different yards take a gallop across the downs.

We always have a great time here on race days. We pack a picnic and set up on the grass field to watch arrivals. Inside is exciting to watch the parade ring, put on bets and stand by the finish line. Lots to eat and drink. Can't fault this as a perfect day out.

We have had a brilliant tour of the national stud, with our guide Frankie. She was so knowledgeable and still really interesting. I would recommend this for anyone, not just those interested in racing. Then lunch at the tack room.. recommended by our guide.

We visited the national stud with discover newmarket organisation. It was very disappointing. For 15 pounds you just have the right to sit into an old bus, an stay behind the foot of the guide, like on the leash. You can not touch horses, there are no many information provided during the visit. I am still wondering if the woman was happy to discuss with us and if she really wanted we enjoy the tour.Be ready to see some grass, some fences, some sculptures, some horse cemeteries and just be able to touch a shetland (a small pony) ... Very good experience .... They mentioned 90 minutes but if you remove the toilets pause, you will be closer than 70 minutes !

Highly recommended. Excellent tour with Malcolm, who was friendly, funny and down to earth. You don't need to have any interest in racing, just a like of horses to enjoy this spectacular place. It was great to get up close and personal with some of the mares and foals. (visit in (Jan)/Feb/March/(April) to see mares and foals) Really good value for money.

Saw a total of 4 horses (stallions). No access to view mares or foals despite 'meet our foals' advertising. Very disappointing 90m on a bus / standing in a graveyard.
