From start to finish all staff were excellent. Optician listened to everything I said and hopefully has provided perfect prescription. Other staff were also really good. Advising on lenses and frame style and also listened as I didn’t want to spend a fortune so didn’t push top end brands etc. thanks for a great all round service. Chees

The staff were extremely kind and very helpful. Loved that they really took my interest at heart. The optometrist was thorough in his job. Would definitely recommend them.

I gave a 5 star review last year. I had an eye test on 12 April. Their prices are now really, really, exorbitant, so I decided to go elsewhere. My new prescription is totally unreadable, so I tried to contact them to get my true prescription confirmed. They NEVER answer the telephone, really, four days of calling, not one pick up. I rang BOOTS CUSTOMER SERVICES who were also unable to get them to answer the phone. Just go somewhere else, I now have no new prescription and will need to pay for another eye test with a new optician. They and Boots do not consider customer service to be a priority and the optician I saw Kevin Boyle needs to learn how to write legibly! Update, I complained, despite promising to do so, nobody ever got back to me, so it is a waste of time complaining about their terrible customer's service. You have been warned. Don't use Boots Opticians in Durham.

Good to see you again SUE !!You kept a dignified silence about my last visit 10 months ago when I believe I was polite but exceedingly overpowering due to a recent discharge from Mental Health hospital (Lanchester Road )Feeling very well now thankfully and in much greater control of my emotions .... Shame the same couldn't be said of carelessness in treading on specs just before delivering an important reading at my local church on Easter Sunday . ( most revered day in the religious calendar ... such a privilege ).However I was reasonably grateful the glasses frame was still intact but twisted. Both of the lens were totally unscathed !SUE tried to realign the frame but only succeeded in snapping it at its weakest point due to suffering my size 9 on it plus heavy weight !!She spent time perusing the frames on display in the shop and finally settled on a set that the lens may fit nicely within.What a marvellous outcome this was ! ... specs better than new if that's possible and no charge incurred.For a change, I'd had sufficient foresight ( excuse the pun folks !! )in June 2022 to take out a £25 insurance which covered me against all manner of accidental damage until June 2023.Did not have a spare pair regrettably ( only prescription sunglasses which would have been inappropriate for driving ) .... just never happy wearing them to be honest !Regards to you for your business - like efficiency once again SUE.ELLIS COXON ( Preferred name with first name JOHN ! )

Every thing was done well efficiently and follow up 2nd opinions for a problem were set up.

The staff where friendly and greeted me when I arrived. There was hand wash and everyone was wearing masks whilst working behind screens to keep eachother and myself safe. The examination was quick, easy, and thorough with the results explained to me so that I understood what was going on with my eyes. Large range of frames available as well at reasonable prices.

Big thank you to Andrew for helping me source some contact lenses. He went above and beyond getting a colleague to seek some in the Alnwick area and even offered to post them out to make it easier for me.I wish all customer services were this responsive and helpful.Well done Andrew!
