Urgent Care Centre York Hospital

Arrived at 5pm into a busy emergency department with signs saying 5 hour wait. I was triaged quite quickly and sent to the urgent care unit. This was also supposedly a 5 hour wait and again I was dealt with quickly. I was in and out within less than 2 hours. The staff were fantastic, I couldn’t fault them.

2.5 hours and gave up, got GP appointment whilst day waiting. Very confusing department with 4 separate services. Can't hear names called due to noise

I called 111 because of my baby sister, she has a rash. For the first 30 minutes I was being asked questions about Coronavirus symptoms and then for another 20, the consultant put me on hold and then came back just to let me know that a doctor will call me within an hour.

Was left 2 wait 13hrs, then the nurse who I saw said the Doctor couldn't help... I never even had a consultation with a Doctor!!Was spoke 2 in a very condescending way by the nurse & left feeling bewildered and rejected!!A complaint will be going in!!!I don't hate the NHS, but some of the staff need educating on bedside manner & customer service.

Friday night visit, 4hr wait to see GP after 111 referral. If you have been referred by 111 you can go to the UCC directly, which is accessed via the main entrance to the hospital, just on the left, register with the receptionist. If not, you need to go to A&E for triage with a nurse first. It's first come, first served. I was no.10 in queue, a couple of people gave up the wait before me so I would've been longer still. I was told 2hrs wait and a TV screen said 1hr, I arrived just before 6 and was seen about 10pm. The coffee shop and convenience shop etc all closed shortly after I arrived so make sure to bring drinks and snacks to get you through the wait. The GP I saw was lovely, and appeared to be the only one there. I've given this 3 stars because of the lack of accurate communication on wait times, minimal comfortable seating and amenities (water fountain at least).

Was seen very quickly, staff all so helpful and caring, including the volunteers.

Had need for emergency care they were fantastic within 2 hours they had sorted my problem and got me a bed on a ward all the nurses and doctors were fantastic

Visited today at 0900 - seen at 1200 by a very helpful nurse practitioner who diagnosed my issue, answered all of my questions and ordered a prescription for me. Screens said wait was 4.5 hours but it was more like 3 for me, and other likely more urgent issues were seen quicker. Note if you are sent there for the GP services, it doesn’t start until 10am. Also, you go to A&E first who then refer you through, if you’re not sent by 111/some other service.
