Our first visit. One of the best Indian restaurants we have been too. Fantastic food and they catered the low/no spice level for our young children too. Lovely service, clean and welcoming. WiFi available too which is fab bonus for the kids!

We had a delivery from this restaurant and when it arrived it was all cold and when we phoned up to complian and get a refund amd its was not worth the price we paid they said no we have to go through the justice system and all the staff I spoke to on the phone one was the manager and the other bloke was both very rude. Don't go to this place avoid it at all times.

Please avoid this place as the chef doesn’t have a clue about INDIAN COOKING. Went this afternoon for lunch but messed up my meal completely. Very disappointed. I would like to post pictures of the dishes ordered and they are not anywhere close to Indian food. Nan was not authentic and hopeless. All the mains were cooked in same curry. The receipt is hand written and when you pay by credit or debit card it appears as GRAND BENGALI INDIAN RESTAURANT and not RAJ MAHAL. NOT AUTHENTIC AND NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. Kindly find alternate. I believe all reviews on the google are PAID.

Had dinner with friends here last night. They were happy to amend our booking last minute, as we got held up. We received a warm welcome on arrival, good service and really enjoyed the food. Will visit again.

Curry’s excellent however on this occasion the kitchen staff deemed this acceptable to be sent out to a customer. Half a popadom that looks like it’s been on fire at some point.I’ve ordered takeaway and ate in this restaurant a good number of times but maybe someone needs to keep a better eye on quality control.Tip if it looks like this don’t send it to a paying customer put it in the bin instead! (This is the entirety of a single popadom as it came)

Welcome back to Raj and the Team!We’ve been regulars here since 1994! Great to have you back! A lot of people criticising the new layout but, time moves on! It’s bright, open planned and very well done, which is a nice refreshing change from the old skool dark booths from the 90’s! Food is absolutely on point as it always was, if there is something not on the menu just ask as they are very accommodating. Great thing about the Raj Mahal is that they open for lunch too from 12-2 which is lovely to sit and watch the world go by! Can’t recommend this establishment highly enough and look forward to seeing you soon!

Poppadoms were cold and stale onion baji was not fresh cold in the middle food took ages to come when it did was freezing nan was nice and so was the pilau rice and chicken midras had a nice flavour but the chicken was tough and chewwy avoid this place if you want a proper Indian cuisine will definitely not be coming back

It's been a while since I've been here but the food was impeccable as it always has been. This place has a good menu and you get exactly what you order. Some Indian restaurants serve up alot of slop and think you don't notice. This place has passion for the food they serve and are proud of what they produce.Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Bristol in my opinion go see for yourself

First time been in since the refit. Had a good chat with Raj the owner. Food was excellent and cooked me a Chicken Balti and Coconut rice that wasn't on the menu. Very accommodating and this will be our go to restaurant now. Highly recommend to everyone.
