We stayed here for 2 nights and we were very skeptical over the poor reviews. Our trip was brilliant and apart from needing some TLC the hotel is perfect for young families.* rooms are dated however, our family room was spotless and well stocked as expected. 3 stars due to the dated rooms.* we couldn't fault the staff. Catered well for the kids.* breakfast was great. Can't review dinner as we ventured into aviemore on both nights. We will be back.

I have visited Coylumbridge many times over the years. Unfortunately, the hotel is depreciating due to lack of maintenance and upgrading. We booked a cozy double room and twin room for ourselves and kids 15 & 18, which turned out to be in the annex. . . . which is actually old staff quarters and not fit to be used as hotel rooms!!I've stayed in a variety of budget hotels, much cheaper than this and never seen anything as bad as these rooms. The double room (147) was too small, dirty, splashes of something up the back of door and walls, no bedside table or lamps, curtains hanging off rail, a desk table thing that was about to collapse, stained carpets but on a positive the shower room looked new. The twin room was slightly better but not much. I asked if we could be moved, even to a family room which after a bit of deliberation the reception staff did . . . apparently the last available room in the hotel! We paid £406 for 2 nights for 2 rooms but ended up with a family room for same price, which I was happy to do to get the swap! The main hotel room was dated, looked exactly like it has every other time I've stayed, but still 100 times better than the annex rooms. On a plus, the foyer area still has a really nice buzz about it and the pool was really nice. Coylumbridge is a great location for families and has good facilities on site, they just really need to sort the rooms out!!

This place was excellent value for money. Staff was really nice friendly helpful. Lovely food. Indoor pool was really handy. Clean and easy to book. Fun house was open. Although seem to shut early. May be due to season. Only thing about hotel was the ceiling roof very thin. And had to listen to someone walking about above me all night.

Hotel has great potential, unfortunately it doesn't meet any of them.Had to complain and challenge things at reception constantly.Set up is very poor, had to go looking for staff to purchase a drink because they are at the other end of the hotel chatting to colleagues. Thats if they can even be bothered to even open. Clearly staffing levels are inadequate.Charging 3 to 4 star prices and delivering a 1 star service. Overall experience is very poor.I for one won't be returning and listening to the other guests complaints neither will they. For the money asked you can and will find much better accommodation and service.I could continue with many examples but I've wasted two days of my holiday coming here, thankfully we are moving on. So we can at least end our holiday on a high.

This was the 3rd time my wife and I stayed here for access to the hills. The staff are awesome every time and incredibly friendly and accomodating. Check-in can sometimes be slow with queues, but there's a lovely cozy lounge to take the weight off while you take the wait off! The breakfast was amazing and worth every penny. My wife and I love this hotel and will be back time again when adventuring in the hills.

Second stay here. Amazing value for money, booked the cheapest double room and got a large room with 2 double beds and a window. Pool and sauna were good. Great location and a perfect base for our weekend at Cairngorm mountain.

No idea why the low rating, this hotel has a fabulous location. Our room was more than adequate for our overnight stay and it was quiet at night. This is a very large hotel complex and we thought the staff were efficient and we didn't queue for a drink at the bar, and the bar prices were competitive with anywhere else we've stayed £6 for a gin and mixer and £4.95 for a 0.5l of beer. We paid £80 for our 1 night stay which included breakfast, which was lovely, it's a buffet arrangement but it had lots of selection from cereal to hot food. Yes I would stay again.

My wife and I booked a 2 night stay, Saturday and Sunday nights. The foyer was very nice and well decorated and also very busy with families.I booked a standard double room. The room was pretty small and very dark.On Sunday morning, the noise of kids running and dogs barking started quite early, before 0800.If you want a quiet getaway, this isn't the place to go. If you have small kids and want plenty to do, this is for you
