Wattie Cottage

I wanted a break in good surroundings with easy access to walking for me and my dog and this is exactly what I found. The cottage is beautiful inside with everything I could want and the views and walking outside are outstanding. Far enough away from civilisation to be relaxing but not too far to go into Aberfoyle if you need to pick anything up. The cottage was furnished to a stylish high standard and was warm without the log fire but I put it on anyway. Everyone locally is really friendly and there is a warm welcome nearby at 'The Pier'. I will definitely be booking again.

A nice relaxing stay at this lovely cottage, it is decorated beautifully throughout and is equipped with everything that is needed. The owner Alex is very welcoming and offered lots of advice on the area and activities. We loved the little touches, such as the welcome pack with lots of goodies :). Would highly recommend and will definitely be rebooking soon.

We had a lovely mini break at this beautiful cottage set in a stunning part of the Highlands. The cottage itself is elegant and cosy at the same time. We cooked our meals everyday and enjoyed time spent around the cosy dining table, with the window looking out on to the Loch. The owner, Alex dropped by to say hello and was so warm and helpful with everything. Definitely a place we would like to visit one day again.

Wattie Cottage is in an extremely beautiful, peaceful and quiet location which is perfect for a relaxing getaway with lots of walking and outdoor opportunities nearby. The cottage itself was lovely and spacious, spotlessly clean and we really appreciated the high quality of the furnishings and kitchen equipment – so unusual to find in a holiday let. Alex and Mark (the owners) went out of their way to give us relevant local information and even let us know when there was a temporary road blockage back to the cottage one day. The mobile and Wi-Fi signal is not perfect and that can be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on your view! We didn’t mind at all but I believe this will be resolved before too long in any case. We had a great time in the area and at the cottage.

We had a really terrific stay at Wattie Cottage in August 2020. The location is wonderful and the cottage is exceptional - high ceilings, plenty of space, and a wood burning stove to return to. Swims in the loch, walks up Ben Lomond, and cycle rides in the Trossachs were truly memorable. The pier cafe - just next to the cottage was really welcoming with some excellent food. And Alex and Mark were incredible hosts.

A beautiful cottage in an amazing setting ! All rooms are very well decorated, spacious and very confortable, with everything you need. Alex is a wonderful host, she helped us to prepare our holidays with an information pack and and was available in no time when ou car broke down.. Thank you Alex !!

Lovely newly refurbished cottage in a fantastically picturesque setting. We were lucky enough to have superb weather which made for a memorable holiday. The cottage is very well appointed with 4 good size bedrooms and we instantly felt at home thanks to Alex and her designer touch.

We enjoyed a lovely family holiday at Wattie Cottage. The property is beautifully presented and has everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. Wattie Cottage is just a few steps from the lochside and there are gorgeous views wherever you look. A great place to relax and enjoy the countryside. One of our family was out running every day and another was cycling miles almost every day. Many thanks to our hosts Alex and Mark for their kind hospitality.

A lovely property in a beautiful and remote location. The house was well equipped and very well maintained.Alex called me a week and a half before our visit to chat through arrival details etc and followed this up with a lovely email filled full of helpful information. We arrived to a delicious basket of treats and welcome card (Alex even left us a bottle of bubbles and card as we were there celebrating our honeymoon). A lovely touch which added to houses very homely feel.The properties internet isn’t so good due to the location but it was actually great to escape it all.Would definitely return.
