The Retreat

Don’t really write reviews but I came in for a wax that was quite bad. Would say to go to another salon for waxing if you have thicker hair. Although I did go in with some mismatched growth cycles, I was still left with long hairs all over and lots of short hairs that had been waxed but not properly so were visibly ‘popping’ out of their follicles. Overall wasn’t that painful, but I’ve definitely felt less sore before. The method of waxing also caused me lots and lots of ingrowns which I NEVER get, so the process has now led me to start my laser hair removal journey, which I’m undecided about. The therapist was nice and personable though nonetheless and for fine haired ladies this probably would’ve been a smoother experience. Wouldn’t come back again sadly.

I love this beauty salon. I started visiting here in 2022 when I moved to the area and it is an absolutely wonderful place. I've had excellent facials in cosy and luxury treatments rooms and just had one of the best haircuts I have had in years. All the staff are both professional and very friendly. A complete gem of a salon!

I have been going to the Retreat for many years. Sarah and the staff are so friendly, they make you feel welcome and at ease. The treatments are great, the monthly offers give a chance to try out new things. Sam usually cuts my hair but during her Mat leave Sarah has organised super cover stylists. I will be happy to see Sam when she is ready to come back. Thank you for all you have done to make the salon ‘Covid secure’ I really appreciate your efforts.

Really nice facial from Kenna today! Really recommend this place for beauty, they are affordable and real perfectionists at what they do. Always a lovely experience!

I love going to The Retreat - I haven't had my hair cut by anyone else for 7 years. They take the time to really listen to what you want done, and what has and hasn't been working. Their CACI facials are miraculous - each and every time, my face is lifted and I look so much younger.I always leave The Retreat looking and feeling fabulous.Every single member of staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. In the run up to my wedding in 2018, I was there so much I felt like part of the family :-)

Highly recommend. Always enjoy a massage treatment. Staff are lovely and prices affordable.

I had CACI facial with Gemma.My first visit here and I was impressed, Gemma is professional and approachable. I felt relaxed during the treatment and I wasn't pressured into having anything extra like sometimes happens in other beauty parlours ! Good ambiance and very clean too,I will recommend and will be back, thank you:)

Had my hair coloured cut and blowdryed by master hair stylist Sarah.she did an amazing job and I'm over the moon with the result.All staff at The Retreat are great and very welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

Used this Salon last year, I am appalled at what happened the lady gave me a price to colour my hair she had a look and they priced it up. I have very thick hair and midway through my colour realised she would need to add more colour, she returned saying that she has to charge me £10 more. I couldn't say no at this point as they were halfway through. I found the service unprofessional. I have always used Toni and Guy and Headmasters to have my hair cut and have never ever encountered behaviour such as this.
