Val has been taking excellent grooming care of my dogs since 2008. Back then I was living just outside Dorchester, but now I'm 60 miles away in the New Forest!She happily accommodates a specific requirement for my dog's haircut to be low rather than high maintenance (because she's very active when out in the forest and gets very muddy!).Whilst there are undoubtedly some well regarded dog groomers nearer to home, I just can't stop taking my cockerpoo Rona to Val for a first class poo pamper. An appointment with Val is a great excuse for a day out in Dorset.I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Give The Dog a Comb and Val to others, especially if you have a cockerpoo!

Val is totally amazing. She is an absolute natural with dogs and she has so much knowledge that she kindly shares. She is patient, talented, friendly and totally brilliant at her job. My 10 month old cockapoo comes out looking incredible. There is no better groomer than Val, she is first class all the way.

Been taking various dogs to Val for over 10 years. Patient and caring even if your dog can be a little devil! Never been nervous about leaving a dog with her and wouldn’t use anyone else. Lovely clean salon with air conditioning... your dog never gets overheated in the summer.

Val is just amazing, she groomed our little dog Tilly for the first time and made such a lovely job , so lucky to have her on our doorstep ,highly recommend Val .

Val at Give the dog a comb is fab! My spaniel has separation issues but happily trots in to see Val... she has a magical way with dogs and is very calm and reassuring and Poppy always comes back looking and smelling amazing. Val is great for advise and has a wealth of knowledge which is really helpful. Her salon is always sparkling clean with no remnants of the previous client so you know your canine best friend is in great safe hands.I wouldn’t take Poppy anywhere else!

My cocker spaniel couldn’t wait to get in the door at Val’s again today. She adores her groom and is always so relaxed there. She came out looking fabulous, yet again.Val is an excellent groomer, who is technically proficient and cares for her doggy customers in a spotless, well equipped studio. Ella came home sporting a gorgeous Christmas bandanna today - handmade by Val. What a thoughtful, lovely surprise!

Val has been grooming our pet Springer Spaniels over a period of 16 years. Initially the first spaniel, Sophie, was hand stripped and she looked amazing and was not at all distressed with her grooming sessions. We then took Sophie and her puppy Star for their grooming to Give the dog a Comb and Val dealt really professionally with their different temperaments both looking beautiful with their cut and grooming sessions. More recently we have been taking Sky who is quite a character and Sophie’s granddaughter - Star’s daughter. Sky certainly provides Val with a challenge and the results are amazing. We would not go to any other groomer as we have such confidence in Val’s work. Very beautiful finish plus happy dogs.

Val was absolutely amazing with my dogs first groom. My dog is a little nervous but she made him feel at ease and an enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend.
