Tenants should avoid. They come and visit your property every 3 months and still try to steal your entire deposit for cleaning, damages"

A big thank you and the whole Lettings team for being brilliant from start to finish, I wish you could be our agents for everywhere we live!

I was renting with these guys for 4 years, always helpful and friendly. Responsive to my requests but usually leave us alone. Fees are also reasonable, also returned my deposit on time. Honest agent.

My partner and I rented a house through this agency. I have to say that I have never dealt with such, friendly, professional staff. Julie and Helen were always available when I called the office, and dealt with any matters quickly and efficiently. I always felt that it was like chatting to a friend when you called the office. They always responded to emails promptly and made arrangements for any repairs or problems to be actioned quickly. I have rented properties through large agents before, when you could never get through on the phone, or they wouldn't get back to you for several days. I never experienced this and I felt that they were always supportive, yet at the same time made sure that the landlords property was cared for too. If you are looking to rent out your property I can't recommend them highly enough.

I have been renting with this agency for about 3 years now. All my interactions with their team has been positive and they have all been very professional and accommodating. Julie, Angie and the rest of their team have been pleasant to speak with and have been prompt and respectful. As a tenant I understand that the current property market has been a bit tumultuous and all I can say is that this property agency has done an amazing job of being fair to both me as a tenant and the landlord. I work for the NHS and often have crazy shift patterns and every time they needed to do an inspection they have given me a heads up. They have been really accommodating if the inspection day falls on “rest day” after being on call and on shift for 19+ hours they will reschedule the inspection to a more suitable date.In the past I have rented through other agencies and had to go through an insane amount of requests just to get things fixed. With this agency it’s different. As an example, the ceiling bedroom lightbulb broke and I tried to replace it. I thought it was me being silly and not being able to change a lightbulb (I can describe in detail how open heart surgery is performed but I couldn’t change a light bulb) it turns out it was the light fixture and something had broken/snapped. It took them 2 days to arrange an electrician and they had given me a choice of dates and times. The property agency dealt with a relatively minor issue really quickly which surprised me as in the past other agencies would just leave it sitting on their to do pile. This agency is also pro active in keeping up with the servicing of the boiler, dishwasher, electrical testing to electrics etc. This has been a long review but I wanted to give an honest feedback of my experiences so far. I understand that sometimes there can be bad property agencies out there, but at the same time there are ones that are actually trying their best to be fair to both the landlord and the tenant. In my opinion the letting centre is one of the good ones that are trying their best to provide services for both tenants and landlords. As tenants we all have a responsibility to respect the property that we live in, it is after all someone else’s property. The landlord and the agency is then responsible for ensuring that the property we rent is suitable and safe for living in. Both the landlord and the agency have been fair with my rent and is in line with the current situation of the housing market. They have not tried to take advantage of me as a renter and have tried to be flexible and fair.

We have had terrible experiences with this letting agency showing absolutely no concern when our heating was broken and constantly fobbing us off with a complete disregard for our problems. Their communication has been appalling and we are on the verge of court action.

An absolutely brilliant team who rented out our property whilst we were abroad for several years. Whether it was finding new tenants, sending an electrician or providing us with informative updates - each and every member of the team was always a delight to work with and very thorough. We trusted them implicitly with our family home. Highly recommended!

Incredibly rude staff and they will charge you a checkout fee despite me never having agreed to that since it's not in the contract . They will also try to charge you for normal wear and tear and to improve the property for the next tenant. Had to open a dispute with the deposit scheme to get them to drop the checkout fee and reduce the money they tried to steal from my deposit for normal wear and tear. Awful experience, worst one in the area. Not sure why my previous review was deleted, suggests they might have gotten more negative reviews they somehow got deleted. Take photos of EVERYTHING before you move your stuff in. Literally every stain on carpets, scratches to door posts, the state of the garden. This agency will try to scam you out of your money and deposit. This seems a tactic to generate more income, just trying it with tenants to see which ones don't want any hassle. Do not be intimidated by this agency. Prepare a list of all defects when you move in and send to the agency, including photos as well. They have no leg to stand on and it's worth it to open a dispute with the deposit scheme. I'm a very experienced renter and this agency is by far the worst. The landlord was very friendly but didn't seem to care the agency they hired ripped off their tenants. This is not a mistaken identity, I have lived at a property let by The Letting Centre in Melbourn (Cambridge). Seems like an attempt to deflect criticism of this awful business. Seems like they are stealing from other tenants too.

We have been using The Letting Centre for over 20 years and have nothing but praise for their calm, friendly and professional approach. The property we let is next to our house and very small so tends to be short-term. However the team are so patient getting just the right tenant time after time. Recently we bought another property and had no hesitation in asking them to take it on. As I said to Angie, ‘as usual The Letting Centre came up trumps.’ So comforting to leave everything to them as it can be very confusing. And don’t worry if they don’t answer the phone immediately they will get back to you I promise and it will be worth it.

Looking through the other reviews, the fact that tenants have given one star reviews and landlords give five star reviews is indicative of my own experience.I would thoroughly recommend tenants unfortunate enough to rent from this agency to use the Dispute Resolution Service to challenge any deposit deductions that you don't think are justified. Checkout fees, in particular, have been outlawed and should never apply. Also, take note of the manner in which the owner responds to critical reviews and consider whether this is somebody you would want to be renting from. Hopefully a similar response will appear under my review to prove my point.
