Angie Nettle Counselling
I cannot recommend this counsellor, as her counselling skills appear questionable, for the following reasons:· Inability to show any compassion when I described the challenges I had faced this a.m. to get to her, after she had changed the appointment to an hour earlier· Confuses 'constructive criticism' with 'aggression'· Confuses a 'preference' with a 'refusal'– my preference was face to face, rather than online, at least initially· Appears to have no insight into other people’s challenges, described to her e.g. being a carer, etc. Admittedly if you are not familiar with certain life challenges, then it’s best just to listen to your client & look it up later?.....· Jumps to conclusions far too quickly, for a counsellorOn top of which she appears disorganised & unprofessional, for the following reasons:· Offered times she was available & then had booked the session she offered me, so had to rearrange my session· Advised she only worked Mon & Fri, yet she offered me Wednesday evening as well & then advised she also works Thursday evenings, but was full· Advised she would have to finish at 10:50 when it was already 11:10 & when I suggested this was incorrect, her response, given she is a counsellor, was disappointing. Counsellors usually explore why you are saying something, rather than being defensive & justifying your mistake. What’s wrong with a ‘oops, sorry yes'· Wasn’t prepared to & didn’t answer my call, when I was 5 minutes late, because I was struggling to find her venue.· Wasn’t prepared to & didn’t answer my door knocks, instead I waited outside her house for 5 minutes & then had no option but to loudly rattle her letterbox, as there was no door bell & the door knocker was covered in decorative & other stuff, so not usable.· Decided to mop her floor just before I arrived, rather than answering her phone or being ready to listen out for the door. Clearly no idea on Health & Safety or the responsibilities associated with Public LiabilityAngie’s interaction with me, as a flustered person having just dealt with some major challenges, before I arrived, was far from ideal for a counsellor. Her interaction with me after I text her my feedback was also far from ideal for a counsellor; she clearly wasn’t interested in the constructive feedback & blocked me. It’s no skin off my nose, but does demonstrate Angie’s need to brush up on her skills set & quality of service provision.I made the mistake (for which I take full responsibility) of assuming she was local & then when I realised she wasn’t, advised her that I would need to explore (with her) other options, such as online, different days, etc. for ongoing weekly sessions. This exploration opportunity was abruptly taken away by Angie. All in all, a very disappointing experience and a total waste of my already very limited & highly valuable timeWhilst it's good to hear Angie has some more positive reviews, since my review, it's important to appreciate & remember that highly vulnerable people need to be protected from unprofessional behaviour, which I experienced, that could've sent me over the edge.Angie, as a professional, has the option to resolve this in a professional manner, given the constructive feedback provided

I highly recommend Counselling with Angie. She has helped me to understand and move forward after very difficult periods in my life.Angie has shown herself to be a warm, kind and non judgemental person and we have built an open and honest relationship which has allowed me to feel safe and heard throughout my counselling with her.

Probably great with dogs, but not good with humans. Lacks empathy, not pleasant to deal with.
