I've been in Exeter since 2006 and the BHL Oriental Food Store is the best shop I've seen in all that time, by a country mile. I'm broadly familiar with the kind of food on sale, but every time I go in - roughly once a fortnight - I'm captivated by what's on the many shelves. There's a huge selection of exotic pickles, sambals and sauces, and I've yet to try one I don't like; there's also a wide range of equally magical tinned food, as well as frozen and fresh food on sale at the front of the store. The staff are all extremely helpful when helping me navigate my way through the bewildering variety of fantastic rice, noodles, crispy onions, peanuts, tiny fish, dried squid, exotic pastes, snacks and countless others, all of which have transformed the meals I make. I should add that my family love everything I've created with these many magical ingredients. So, for me, this wonderful store is an Alladin's Cave - I love it and I can't recommend it highly enough.

The range of products and helpfulness of the lady behind the counter made a journey to this shop worth the detour to Exeter we made to visit it!!!!Absolutely everything for Asian cookery under one roof.
