Smart Drive UK - Portslade

Originally went with RED but after them cancelling all my lessons without reason before id even started, i landed on Smart drive and they booked me in straight away.Carrie is an incredible instructor, worked around my work schedule and was really tentative. Its honestly like having a mix of your best friend and mum in the car with you, helping you along.We went from Feb to Nov and passed my test first time round today!Couldn't recommend anyone better!

I’ve had my lessons with Carrie, and after 4 previous instructors, learning over two years with Covid, lockdowns, and the long await for test date, I finally passed in just number of months with carrie, she is so kind, caring and thoughtful, she always went out her way to work around my dates and times, she never cancelled or rearranged, she was always on time. Always so calm, patient, organised and supportive, so I never felt anxious or silly for making a mistake, like with previous instructors. With Carrie I felt very supported and confident, not just like a payment, that previous instructors have only cared about. She really went above and beyond for me to pass and be test ready. Her car also is very Morden, and easy to drive, what helped a lot. As happy as I am to of passed! I’ll be sad to say goodbye to Carrie ! Highly recommend, and highly thankful for all you have done for me over a short space of time !

I had a driving instructor that I had used before Carrie unfortunately I failed my first time with them ,I decided to change my instructor and I’m so happy I did she made my driving so much less of something I was nervous about and turned it into something I enjoyed she’s informative and polite and will go through everything with you in a helpful way to make sure you don’t just understand how to drive for your test but to also feel comfortable and safe on the roads which in turn made me pass my test !! I will always recommend her to friends and family moving forward .

I would highly recommend Nick as a driving instructor. Nick was very professional, always on time, and flexible when it came to my schedule. Nick helped me build my confidence up. He was always very patient, honest and understanding. Nick is very personable and made me feel relaxed. Big thank you to Nick for helping me with passing my test. He will teach you how to be a good driver!

Couldn’t recommend Joe Pearson as an instructor more!! He taught me pretty much from scratch and got me to pass first time. Thanks Joe :)))

My driving instructor Carrie has been amazing. I came to her after my mum had taught me to drive, however I lacked confidence, knowledge and experience. Every week Carrie had a plan of what we would do and notes from the lesson before which made me feel at ease. I never felt scared or silly if I made a mistake as she was always calm and collected, and would talk me through what to do next and what I should’ve done differently. This really helped me when tackling roundabouts. My driving skills improved significantly after lessons with her. We did many different types of roads and manoeuvres, building my confidence. As well as going through all the information I needed for the test. Carrie was always on time for our lessons and she was so helpful with moving times or dates around our schedule, as well as where she would pick me up from. I passed yesterday with zero faults! Would highly recommend Carrie to anyone looking to start driving or to build their confidence and skill. Thank you Carrie.

I want to say a massive thank you to joe Pearson at smart driving school uk for teaching me what I need to know for my practical test which I passed this morning. And if anyone one is looking for a good driving instructor choose joe Pearson.

Nick Venes who works for Smart Drive UK driving school is an excellent driving instructor.I was quite nervous to start learning to drive but Nick put me at ease. He was funny yet professional and we got along really well which helped me feel comfortable which in turn helped me learn better.Nick was happy to answer any question I had. When I got nervous or when I beat myself up over a mistake I had made Nick was very patient and reassuring.Nick was very flexible and fit lessons around my busy schedule. When I started working full time he agreed to doing lessons 7-9am before the start of my work day (and finishing the lesson at my workplace which was very convenient) - it allowed me to continue learning while working full time.I rarely practiced driving outside of my driving lessons but this did not impede my progress. I passed my driving test on my first try with only 5 minors.Nick encouraged me to get the theory app that you get free access to when learning with Smart Drive UK driving school. The app definitely helped me pass my theory test first time as it contained mock tests which were really helpful and more convenient to use than the DVSA book. It also had loads of hazard perception video samples that I would not have known where to access without the app.I highly recommend Nick Venes as a driving instructor.

I had driving lessons with Carrie -she was brilliant! I've had lessons with 4 different instructors ( I started learning before Covid then had to stop hence why so many instructors!) and I can say very confidently she is the best instructor by far. Really nice and friendly and it was with her that I passed my test! A very easy five out of five stars to give.
