Inglenook Restoration Ltd

It was well worth the wait for Deyan to restore our 1650’s Inglenook fire. Every picture tells a story - before and after a month of hard work.

Deyan is a wonderful craftsman, he repaired and cleaned our inglenook in our 16th century home in East Clandon. He said it should take him 2 weeks and that is exactly what it took even though there was a bit more brick replacement required than first thought. He is obviously passionate about his craft and we are very pleased that we managed to find him.

Deyan restored our fireplace beautifully, we were very impressed with his workmanship from start to finish and would recommend him highly.

Deyan carried out the repair on our inglenook fireplace in our house from 1780. On estimating the job he said we may have a bread oven hidden away, I thought that was never possible. However he was correct and managed to expose it. Sadly the oven had been removed some time ago but the beautiful arch remains.Any materials required were sourced form the local reclamation yard so are in keeping with the rest of the brick work.We are blown away with what he has managed to pull off. Never in our wildest dreams did I think we had such an amazing feature hidden away. I am so glad we found Deyan and will be sure to use him again with any other brick repair.A final note is I wish all tradesman who work in your house are as tidy as Deyan. Everything was covered and spotless at all times. After 8 days of work our cream carpet was still spotless.

Deyan worked on two of the chimneys on our Grade II* listed Georgian townhouse. We were really impressed by his work and have no hesitation about recommending him. He's very professional, communicates well, is really timely, and knows his stuff. He works with reclaimed materials and really respects old building. Attached is a before and after show of the the two chimneys he worked on. He dismantled these all the way down to the roofline, and rebuilt them with reclaimed bricks and the appropriate mortar. Really happy with it.

We approached Deyan shortly after we had moved into our 15th century home. The previous owners had boarded up a section in the main living room, telling us there is an inglenook hidden behind it.The first day when the work started it actually did not look very promising, Deyan had removed the plaster board and we could see the fireplace (or what was left of it) was completely filled up and built up with several years of brick work.Deyan took his time, removed literally brick after brick to uncover the remains of what turned out to be an inglenook indeed.He restored our beautiful fireplace with no less care than if we had done it ourselves. It looks amazing, is 100% in keeping with what we found and he guided us through every step along the way.The work was not only done efficiently and carefully but also as clean and tidy as possible.We love our living room even more now!

Deyan's skill, eye for detail and above all his friendly nature made him a pleasure to work with. He meticulously restored a brick fireplace we exposed and turned a dusty patch of wall into a vibrant centrepiece of our home.
