Has a new sign up after donations for the restoration of the Spire, it's open but has a lot of fencing up as there's a risk of falling debris

A beautiful church with a slightly wobbly bench to sit on outside. I've been several times as there are nice walks in the area. Sadly every time the church is locked so I've never seen inside. However it is worth seeing from the outside. It's lovely.

The church was mentioned in the Doomsday Book so has been around probably before the Normand Conquest of 1066, it is a Grade 1 listed building. In the main the church was built between 1350 & 1539 as it's described as late perpendicular style reflecting the prosperity of the wool merchants. The south aisle contains the Golding chapelafter John Golding and was built in 1497. The tower houses 6 bells dating from 1659 to 1830.The font is 15th Century whilst the pulpit dates from the early 1600's.The church is normally open for visitors.
