We recently undertook a major house renovation during a most difficult time for the building industry. Fortunately we had a brilliant team of builders Elkwood Construction who steered us through all the interruptions and difficulties imposed by Covid lockdowns, crazily rising prices, and breakdowns in the building materials' supply chain. On a personal level it was a pleasure to deal with Chris Burns and his team from Elkwood. They were straightforward to deal with, they were honest in their pricing and kept to the original quote, the quality of their work is excellent, and they worked hard to solve problems that arose. It was an absolute pleasure to have them around (we continued living in the house during the remodel) as they respected people and property as a matter of course. Another big plus is they communicated well with our architect (we highly recommend John Wood from Altrincham), as well as the subcontractors and everyone involved with the remodel such as bathroom, kitchen and flooring suppliers, and they ensured we were kept in the loop every step of the way. Adrian, our site manager, was such a positive and friendly force that we knew we were in good hands from the start. The team from Elkwood were approachable, responsive and took pride in the quality of their work. We highly recommend them, and are so glad we chose them. We now have a house we are thrilled to live in, and thanks for making this stressful time an unexpectedly pleasant experience!

Earlier this year we undertook a single storey kitchen extension. It was the biggest project we’ve ever done albeit to a construction company probably on the smaller side! From the minute we met Chris the project was managed impeccably with all our questions and queries resolved. The attention to detail was perfect with neighbours liased with and architect/structural oversights identified and amended. Once the build began the team led by Adrian couldn’t have been better. What a gent with years of expert knowledge. When issues did appear they were resolved with zero fuss. He even created a plumbing line for the washer and 2 new cat flaps! We didn’t have time due to work to get involved too much so this was the perfect situation. All work completed to the highest of standards and on schedule. Biggest compliment I can give is they were part of the family for 4 months. Living and loving the finished product.

Embarking on our project was daunting - however we found ourselves in good hands with Elkwood. We cannot thank all the team enough - they were brilliant from start to finish - always respectful and considerate. They were professional and friendly in all communication both with us and the architect - we felt we were working as a team. We were impressed with their attention to detail - they always strove to ensure we were happy with the result. We feel lucky that we used them and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Can not thank Chris and the team at Elkwood enough.From taking over our extension build that was left in a bad way by a previous contractor, to completing it quickly and to a high standard giving us our dream kitchen.
