Food is amazing! Staff are fab! Had a chicken burger, others had fish n chips, beef burger, baked potato, kids mac n cheese etc, everything fresh and made to order. Staff really friendly and told us about the new chef/owner and how they try to be fully self sustaining food wise which was really interesting

We didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t see any pictures or reviews of the place when we sent them an email to book. What a pleasant surprise !! This restaurant was definitely a highlight in our short stay on Islay. The staff was so nice, the food absolutely delicious, and wow the place was absolutely beautiful. For a young restaurant (opened 4 months ago), we really were able to appreciate their experience and they have nothing to envy to any other restaurant. Thanks for everything we will be back !!

So good this is the only restaurant we came back to twice on our 5 night stay in Islay. Enjoyed the Cesar salad in particular. The service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive. One of the best (of not the best) places to eat on Islay. Also a very unique dining room with killer views.

A newish place. Staff are very friendly but food was a bit underwhelming. Beautiful views but some construction outside still. If walking from Port Ellen, note that you will be walking along the road as the pavement ends (but it's pretty safe with nice views)

An amazing place and a great addition to the food options on Islay and specifically around Port Ellen. The food is superb and some of the best on the whole Island. The Sunday roast us amazing but make sure you head along early as we missed out this time due to them all being sold out. Fear not though, the rest of the menu is utterly superb and they made a lovely effort for me celebrating my birthday. We'll be back at the very next opportunity. Love it.

One of the best meals we had on Islay. The crispy squid and chicken pakoras were particularly good! Also friendly and flexible service and responded to an email booking (thank you!)

Had a delicious lunch and it's a lovely place to go for a meal. Staff friendly and helpful. Isla (dog) even got ice cream. Highly recommend The Balaclava Byre.

Hidden Gem on Islay. Best food on the island and the service is great! Really helpful waiter. So knowledgeable about local produce.

Excellent restaurant. Seems to be brand new. place.Excellent food and cooking. We ordered a huge ribeye with bone, for 2 persons. The chef even told us the name of the beef and where it lived.And every thing comes from the farm or the region.I strongly recommend.
