We were hankering after some grilled meat and Cafe Istanbul was a great call. We started with lahmancum (think, small pizza with lamb topping - light and tasty), grilled Haloumi (served with hummus) and Pillow Bread. Charcoal grilled lamb chops and chicken Shish completed the main course. Effes beer and Turkish white wine accompanied. This is eastern Mediterranean comfort food!

I am Turkish and moved 3 weeks ago to Manchester, checked a Turkish restaurant and found this place and give it a chance after read the reviews, my feedback:Lentil soup: a little bit to much water, a real Turkish lentil soup is little bit more thick" and not so waterly.. taste was ok. Still Cappadocia Restaurant in London has the best lentil soup ;)Chicken Döner and Chicken İskender :I do not understand why our Turkish folks are serving Lebanese style chicken doner?? Marinated chicken as Arabic style with spices ?Chicken Doner

Visited for the first time on Friday 6/10. Most certainly won't be the last time! Warmly welcomed. Incredibly impeccable service and simply delicious food. Loved it!

I ordered the lamb doner wrap for £9.90, which included a side of chips. Portion was extremely generous, I even ended up taking it home.I love the fact it uses chunks of lamb in the wrap and includes a refreshing salad inside with their homemade chilli sauce. The chips that came with it was nicely seasoned and freshly made.The service was a little slow but expected during lunch time rush.

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday night. Our table was ready for us on arrival and we were quickly seated. The food and service here is absolutely amazing.Our waiter Abdul was really good on his recommendations.Very very highly recommended and I will be visiting again soon.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the quality if food is very good, and the menu features a variety of choices. I don’t think it’s the best place for vegan/ vegetarian but at least there’s a few vegan/vegetarian options.

I have to admit that I am impressed by the quality of the food here.We had Calamari, king prawns for starters and then chicken wings and mixed grill for main courses. The food itself is beautifully presented and very tasty. You can see they are very into details from the side dishes like rice and salad.Staff are polite and friendly, very chill out environment for dine in. Open kitchen with oven and very fresh vegetables.I am looking forward to coming back to try more tasty food.
