Peartree Practice – Sholing
Just had my first contact with this surgery since joining. The clinician was so rude! He didn't listen to me or have any interest in my needs. He had an attitude from the get go. I'm grieving and have mental health problems and don't drive. He kept insisting I couldn't take a copy of a letter to Bitterne and must take it to Sholing despite this. When I asked why Bitterne couldn't pass the info on he said they could but it would take a couple of days and it was easier to take it to Sholing .Despite me explaining how difficult that would be for me and I can't get there today anyway. He was talking to me like I was a small and stupid child...I'm in my 50s. I tried to explain my situation. He said he couldn't see an e consult, but there must have been one because they phoned me.I ended up hanging up in tears. I'm scared now that I've made a big mistake His attitude was appalling. I wish I had read the reviews before changing surgeries. I hope this was a one-off and the rest of the staff are more interested in the patients' needs than this rude, unhelpful man. Thanks for the response. But that is exactly why he should have listened. I told him that I couldn't get to Sholing. If he hadn't cut me off, he would have known I couldn't get there until Thursday (this was on a Friday), so Bitterne was way quicker. I got a response on Monday. He didn't say it would take longer. He said it wasn't possible to take it there as they only dealt with certain things. I asked can't i take it to Bitterne

Ive recently moved here and had to register with GP today. Make sure you ask clearly which clinic you're booked at as they will book you in either bitterne or scholing. The receptionists were very helpful, the phlebotomist was lovely and the Doctor was very considerate and caring about my condition, she got things sorted quickly for me.

Been with this surgery since it was Bath Lodge then they merged & moved to this place, all to receive a larger budget (£££s) but the service suffered as they can’t adequately cope with the increase in patient numbers.Couldn’t wait to leave here after belonging to since childhood.Dreadful service, if this was a private business, it would have gone bust ages ago.

I have not had to have many dealings with the surgery during my time in Sholing as I have, thankfully, been in reasonably good health. However, I had an accident yesterday resulting in a deep cut which required urgent treatment. I was advised to call my GP surgery in the morning and, when I called the surgery today, I was on hold for less than 5 minutes, the receptionist was knowledgeable, helpful and proactive and I was offered an appointment for today. Given that the NHS is under so much pressure, I cannot complain about the service from the surgery.

After my family have moved to Sholling we have registered with Peartree Practice, what a big disappointment unprofessional end extremely rude !! Roger Wood - how this person can even work as Nurse hes extremely rude, he literally ignored my concerns and hand up on me.On my blood test I notice that nurse didn't disaffected my skin before she wanted to put niddle into my arm and after my request to do so I was told they only do it when someone is physically/visibly dirty !! I will be moving elsewhere ASAP and I will be sure to complain directly to NHS

I don’t think that GP services should exist.I am not sure what they are being paid for? Probably for playing “ping pong” by diverting patients who knows where and not doing the job at all.We have been discharged from hospital a couple of months ago. Hospital promised us an appointment to return to hospital after 4 weeks. 8 plus weeks gone, we are still waiting. So, we have some concern and in need of check up to skip serious issues.I called Peartree Surgery - as it is our Surgery to look after us. Right, I called them addressing the concern. Instead of booking lady in her 68 for check up, for blood test and referral to Hospital, GP doctor called us and deciding to help she “ping ponged” us and told us to call to Hospital or wherever we were in Hospital. She said if we won’t have a luck chasing Hospital to call back to GP Surgery for another “ping pong” service.Unfortunately, we yet had no luck, today will be another day of trying to “catch the bird for its tail”.P.SIt is not the one case, in the summer I had pneumonia. I could not get hold of Peartree Surgery at all. Spoke to some E-GP and they told me to drink paracetamol, inhale Olbas etc.. . So I went to private practice and they saved me with strong antibiotics and treatment.

Didn’t have high hopes for this practice when I moved here and needed to register for a GP, based on the reviews. So far my experiences couldn’t be further from the majority of these reviews. So far I have only had good experiences, using econsult I received a response from a practitioner the next day who quickly made the referrals I needed, and was understanding of my situation. As well as repeat prescriptions being filled in a fraction of the suggested waiting time. I cannot remember her name but the young receptionist who, after taking a bunch of abuse for a problem well out of her control and provided alternatives, seemingly shook off this stressful situation to be able to assist the next person, me. All with a calm friendly attitude that would suggest every person who came to her window before me was as pleasant as she.

All these reviews have their part of truth, the doctor is very harsh and don’t even bother to investigate more, even though you tell him exactly what the problem is, he will tell you that he never heard about it. Incompetent doctor.
