Holiday Inn Northampton, an IHG Hotel

Good to see this great hotel used for the general public again. Staff are friendly and efficient. Will stay again

Had a birthday party with around 30 guests and the staff were very helpful and accommodating

Great hotel, clean, good value and fantastic reception staff who were quick to assist with a minor problem. Value for money, will definitely stay again.

Spent 1 night at this hotel and was slightly disappointed with the room for numerous reasons. 1 the room was cold so had to get a free standing heater to warm it up and then it didn't really get warm after being on for hours. 2 the wall heater that looked like an Aircon type heater couldn't blow out a match it was terrible hence the frew standing heater as extra power to get the room warm. Also in the middle of the night this wall heater decided to chuck out water onto the carpet in the exact place of the position of your feet when you get out of bed, not a good start 1st thing in the morning soaking wet feet brilliant NOT. 3 Was woken up numerous times with a door slamming pretty much all night so that wasn't good. 4 The Shower control knob fell off when we turned it so a panic to fit it back on otherwise we couldn't have turned off the water. . Now to the evening meal 3 courses covered by pre paying 1st choice chicken curry this was really good. Naan bread flavoursome, onion bhajis good flavour, and the poppadoms were ok. The desert was ok as well. Then we went to breakfast the following morning which was the usual item cooked breakfast,cereals,cheeses and hams, everything was on offer. Including a chef who was happy to poach some eggs which to be honest could have done with a few more minutes as mine had snotty bits in it so was a tad off putting. But the Pan cakes tasted good so it made up for it. The sausage was definitely not the best and the veggie sausage was just awful as well. Perhaps the hotel could source another supplier for this. Overall not the best stay I've had in a hotel. So when we spoke to reception to address these issues with the room all the lady wanted to do was listen and try and flog us 3000 points and extra time to check out instead of 12pm it would be 2pm just for signing up to this extra benefit which I thought was an insult to be honest. Anyway I do hope this hotel reads this and decides to improve on my review.

Booked to attend a family event. Location and price were the most important things. The room was fine but interestingly was an accessible room. It was clean and in good condition.
