Dance Of Hitchin

Was a nice shop based on dance/ balley/ gymnastics/ different types of costumes I have noticed.I bought a balley shoes for my daughter, the recommendations are perfect.

Went in for some ballet shoes and cardigan for my 2 year old. Great, friendly customer service. They immediately picked out the perfect sizes that still allowed room for growth and we were in and out within 5 mins.

More focus on dance,wouldn't say it caters much for fancy dress

Staff know their trade. Good customer service. Been to this shop to get dance/ballet articles. Tried an online shop last month as per advice" of ballet school and wasted my time and money. Will always go back to Dance of Hitchin from now on."

Very helpful staff and last-minute costume brought. Answered all my questions on the phone before driving to them. Very reasonable prices.

First visit today, was after some ballet bits for my little one. The lady that served us was very helpful and friendly. They had exactly what I wanted and I left a happy customer. Thank you Dance of Hitchin!

I don't usually leave reviews other than to celebrate good experiences but I am really disheartened by the experience - I got some dance shoes here, was told they didn't have my usual size but not to worry as size up was perfect and a smaller size wouldn't fit, and that drawstring would make it just right. Felt a bit rushed out of the store but never mind that when you get good advice and service, trusted the seller given they were quite certain these were a good fit. But I get home, tried them on again and they're gaping and folding over excess leather at the toe. It didn't feel right is I checked online for advice and then went to another dance store for a second opinion and was told it's usual to size down in leather ballet shoes and now have a well fitting pair a full size down from an alternate shop. This would be fine if Dance of Hitchin had just made a mistake, this happens, everyone has rough days or is in a rush sometimes but I had asked about the gaping and was told it was fine and as I was handed the shoes without a bag or receipt I am not clear that I can return them. I'm sorry to leave a frustrated review because I think dance shops are really important and a magical place for young and old dancers and I really want to support independents but I don't think it's right for that to be an excuse for what felt a little bit like I was taken for a ride, now with a pair of shoes I can't use and out of pocket - something other dancers or parents of young dancers might not be able to afford to go through in this economy.
