Thankyou so much for the care of our pony Jessie. Zoe was excellent keeping us well informed of what was happening over the next 24hrs with her colic. So happy she has come out the other side. A big thankyou to all involved with her care and the lovely girl looking after us on collecting her. Sorry should have got your name too.Lesson learned go direct to rainbow

Really informative, very friendly, answered all and any questions we had. Absolutely worth the 3 hr trip to get there! Called us everyday to let us know how our horse was doing as he was there for a week. Would recommend!

I have been a customer at Rainbow for over 30 years. Back in the old days it was the awesome Bob and Yi, now it is an amazing referral centre, fully equipped hospital for all surgery and advanced diagnostics. The breeding unit is fantastic- my mare and foal are there as I write this. The whole team are very professional from the office staff to all the vets and their support staff.I could not run my yard and training centre without the fantastic support of the ambulatory team. Over the years I have built up superb relationships with the vets on the ground based on mutual respect.Definitely a 5* vote from myself and my customers

I always had great respect for this place until today.Today we had to have a horse PTS. It was done in the most uncaring way I could image possible. The room where it is done stank of death and old, unwashed bloodied floors. The doors were left open for another horse to witness my friends horse dying. The vet was throwing the used syringes out of the door towards our feet as she was emptying them, but before all that, he was taken into the room, already sedated, with a vet pulling him and another one to the side of him dragging him by the tail.To see a horse you have cared for and loved over the years being treated like that before his death is upsetting to say the least. But, I will thank the receptionist, Emily, and another lady who offered for us to take the horse into a paddock so he could graze. These two ladies did look after us and did show compassion.

My mum has just had two ponies put to sleep with rainbow. From the initial call with Sabrina where it was arranged to the deed being done today by Joe everyone we have dealt with has been kind, professional and efficient. Rainbow also arranged for the ponies to be taken away after they passed. Please pass my thanks to those mentioned above. They made a very sad day much easier on us all.

It saddens me to say this but my Percheron mare came down with colic, we were told by Oaklands Vets that we should go down the line of operating, we agreed as she was only 6, we agreed, after trying hard to find a hospital close by to go to Rainbows as they would be waiting to do the operation when we got there, we had to travel with poor Nancy for 2 hrs. We got there and the team were friendly and welcoming, however the surgeon was not there waiting, we had to leave to get back home for the kids, I asked is the surgeon coming, she said he is on his way. At approx 5/6 pm the surgeon operated. They found a compaction, they removed it, they told me her small intestine looked very angry, however she had a 75% chance of surviving, next day she was still refluxing, gut wasn’t working, she was fed by drip and given morphine for the pain. Her heart rate was still up but the refluxing had lessened, they then told me the next day that they would need to do another operation on our Nancy, bearing in mind this mare is a tonne weight, 18hh. I asked why???? We want to take another look, see if there is another complication, I agreed, to cut a long story short. After the second op they told me that they found nothing, however her incision had been compromised, basically the stitches had come away, they had to put in a wire to hold it all together. Poor mare. She seemed to become worse after that, her heart rate never came back down and after giving her a dose of the more expensive drugs, that usually bring horses back from the depths of despair, two hrs after these Miri ale drugs were administered I was told she must be put to sleep, she had a turn for the worse. I’m not blaming anyone as I have no evidence of any wrong doing, but I do t even have a break doesn’t if the coatings, £10,000 later, well £9000, they gave us a 10% discount only because we asked! In hindsight, I wish I just left her at home and had her put to sleep. We tried but I guess we will never know what went on in the operating theatre. All I can do is hope that she didn’t suffer too much but I think my poor mare did. RIP BEAUTIFUL GIRL…we tried our best .

We are long term clients from the great days of Ordidge & Pritchard. Still a great, if somewhat larger team these days, who always aim to do the best they can for you and your horses.

Incredibly professional knowledgeable & caring.Sadly seen 3 different vets from the practice this week and an unfortunate outcome but I have received 110% support from everyone and I know my horse had the best possible care and treatment
