Optical Express

I had Multifocal Lens replacement surgery completed and what a difference it has made to my life.No more need for glasses or contact lenses it is wonderful.Optical Express has been excellent all the way, eye exam 1 day 1 week and now just had my 1 month eye examination . I had 20 20 vision after one day and has progressively got better as time progressed.I cannot thank them enough for the great service I’ve received .

I went in for a free consultation a few months ago, and I've now just had my one month since surgery check up. I'm so happy with my better than 20/20 vision! The staff at optical express were all so friendly and helpful, they take such good care of you, and there was no pressure to choose the surgery. I felt I was in very experienced hands and was very comfortable with everything, (including covid protocols). If anyone is thinking about this; do it! It'll change your life!

I had my laser eye surgery, vision correction, almost a year ago, May 2021. The Initial consultation went well. All the staff were welcoming and happy to answer any questions. The actual surgery was very quick and took about ten minutes.After the surgery I was given anti inflammatory drops and other drops for dryness to use for a week. My problem started two days after I stopped using the drops. I started experiencing severe sensitivity to light and grittiness in my eyes. I called the surgery and spoke with (Martin) he reassured me that it's normal since it has only been 9 days since I had the surgery and I need to carry on using the artificial tear drops. Five days latter my eyes were still very sensitive and I was struggling to open my eyes. I went to the surgery for a check up and there I learnt that my eyes were inflamed. And that small percentage of patient need to use the anti inflammation drops for longer, also inflammation and eye dryness have similar symptoms, which they should have known best from the first time I called. I was also told that my healing process will take longer because of the inflammation.I had to visit the surgery several times for a couple months after for a check up, and during these appointments that I started feeling that they care more about the vision than any other problem.I decided to book an appointment with other independent optician, and the optician thinks it's likely that the dryness in my eyes was caused by the inflammation. I do believe that what I'm going through is due to negligence from Optical Express side.I'm writing this review to share my story, and hopefully it helps with anyones making decision to undergo the surgery. If you decide to go ahead, please read more about eye dryness and inflammation before hand to recognise the symptoms, I never had issues with dryness before the surgery, although Optical Express should know better . Also, get advice from independent opticians if you experience any issues after as quick as possible.

Had two consulations with this branch and they were botrh excellent. The first time I decided not to proceed with the surgery and they were really good about, I wasn't hounded by calls or anything like that.At all times in the Edinburgh branch I felt secure and welcomed. The surgery happened in their Glasgow branch but honestly I was so well informed by Edinburgh at that point that I had no questions or hesitations.Kudos, some really friendly people.PS: The plants have started growing again. Victory!

Just two weeks into lens replacement surgery with multifocal lenses and I am absolutely loving the results. I found the team at George Street very helpful and supportive - both before and after surgery. The ops were in Glasgow, and the team there were also kind, helpful and supportive. After 32 years of wearing glasses, I am very happy that I finally took the plunge. Thank you!

From the consultation, to surgery and aftercare (still receiving aftercare) the service and care received from Optical Express Edinburgh team has been amazing! In particular Paul who has even taken the time to answer any of my questions when hes been at home on days off or made sure someone called me. But the girls there also been absolutely amazing. Very thorough during checks. How relaxed Paul made me feel and so informative made me chose Optical express rather than another company i had seen. He made sure i got an appointment quickly. And even when I rang him annoyed my appointment time was getting changed for a 3rd time he made sure my appointment would stay. During the pandemic juggle work and childcare was hard enough. I would highly recommend!

Have been for a number of follow up appointments with my Father who initially had cataract removal surgery. In all cases the staff have been bright, friendly, accessible and very professional. My father was put at ease and talked through the various stages of his procedure and recovery. Would highly recommend Optical Express to anyone thinking of eye treatment.

Decided to look into surgery once I turned 21, best decision I’ve ever made! Optical Express team in Edinburgh and Glasgow were fantastic. Every worry I had was put to rest by them and they were so helpful through the whole process! Fully recommend using them for lens surgery!!

My pre-op was very informative and the people from the Edinburgh clinic were really nice and helpful. The surgery itself was really quick and painless. All my post-op visits since then (also in Edinburgh) have been great, I feel really well looked after. The surgery has definitely changed my life, I 100% recommended it!

I had lens replacement surgery on both eyes to correct my short and slightly long sightedness. The surgery was surprisingly quick and even though for me it was unpleasant during the left eye, knowing what to expect made the right eye much easier. The surgeon and nurses were great at making me feel at ease during the process - talking to me and reassuring me. The next day, after my check up, I was shopping in Zara with near perfect vision. Couldn’t believe it! The aftercare is really good so I’ve felt looked after throughout the entire process.
