Lovely food (although vegetarian options were a little thin on the ground); locally-sourced ingredients. The service was genuinely warm and enthusiastic. Great choice of house wines and beers. Even the singer was easy enough on the ear. Downsides? The decor was a bit bland, tables a little cramped, but this is nit-picking: This pub comes highly recommended :-)

The only thing good about this place was the waitress. Portions were not filling, only four mussels with the Salmon fillet and one of which was closed. No clams as specified on the menu, and clearly frozen prawns and potatoes that didn't taste as fresh as you would expect, for the price. Overall, too overpriced for the quality and would never visit any Red Lion again. Had to go to The Old Vicarage after because we're still hungry. The piri piri chicken wings are delicious.

What a pleasent surprise! Great Sunday lunch with smiley service. Beefy-tasting beef, lots of freshly prepared vegetables and super scrunchy roasties. Be brave and leave room for the warm brownies. .....
