Lovely hotel excellent value for money. Comfy beds and nice views.Nice rural location - we had to drive around 30 minutes to the locations we wanted to see - but it was a lovely drive regardless.The ladies in the dining room worked very hard to give us a tasty breakfast everyday

We had a one night stop over recently with our little dog. The food was so good and nice to see a roast on during the week. Paula and Oliver were extremely good attentive hosts and super friendly. We found on arrival no heating on in the room and it was very very cold. Perhaps housekeeping could of left it on low. 1 radiator did not work at all even after a member of staff pressed the boost button in the boiler room.

Little bit out of the way if you don't drive or can't because you want a drink.. but lovely country location. On the up side it is directly next to bust stop in a regular bus route. Gorgeous old building, very nicely done out inside. The food smelled delicious though we did not eat there.. drinks were not as pricey as I expected them to be. Not cheap, but not too extortionate. The staff were pleasant. I'd like to go back and try the food soon

Went to a function last night. No pinot Grigio at all in the building. Not ideal when that all you drink. No ice! Apparently the machines were broken. So I spent the evening drinking warm wine that wasn’t to my taste at all. The staff were a little bit rude I watched someone serve my friend and roll their eye when she didn’t pay quick enough. I have better facilities at home including a working ice machine. Not impressed. Must try harder.

The room was great; warm, comfy, and nicely decorated. However there is no easy route to the main building and the restaurant from the rear block of rooms, you have to go all the way around the outside and walk up a bit of a steep incline, which is not fun in the wind and rain.Be aware that the restaurant closes quite early. I was staying for a work trip and had travelled quite some distance but when I arrived at about 8.30pm I was too late for food.The EV charger is way overpriced for a 7kW supply at an eye watering 80p/kWh! I had planned to fully charge whilst here ready for my return trip home (the charger was the main reason for booking this hotel) but it was actually cheaper to go elsewhere and use a 150kW rapid charger. The breakfast was superb! More places should do tinned toms with breakfast.

We stayed here the night before our Land Rover Experience. The Old Stone Trough suited all our needs. The staff here are very attentive and are on the ball. We arrived late in the evening and was able to have a delicious roast dinner and a nice drink. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfy. The only thing I was disappointed about was not having shower gel provided, you would expect this at a minimum. The breakfast is also basic but very good, it has all you need. Overall this place is great value for money and would happily stay here again.

Great location if visiting the Dale's. Service very friendly.Rooms were good for the price, great value and dog friendly (albeit an extra fee). We stopped during the recent heatwave, luckily for us exit door to side stairs were right by our door so with opened windows got some airflow going. Perhaps could do with fans (though we didn't ask, 1 night stay).

Love this place! Great, friendly atmosphere, beautifully decorated and furnished. Lovely, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Perfectly cooked and presented food, and good value. Lovely experience, have returned several times since finding in June. Definitely a favourite.

My wife and I met up with some friends here for an evening meal, we were greeted by friendly, pleasant polite staff. Very nice decor. Lovely tasty meals and value for money. It was great to be able to not have to rush and just relax with our friends. We also stayed in the car park in the motorhome.Will definitely be back and we would recommend.A lovely warm welcome in the morning as a breakfast was included in the stopover price.Amazing value for money, Coffee or tea, toast, sausage eggs bacon beans toast and plum tomatoes, also cereal available.Great stopover for Motorhomers and Camper vans.

Lovely hotel. Had a twin room. Bed a little soft for my liking, no plug for the bathroom sink and tiny shower cubicle. But saying that there were plenty of electrical sockets which is important for the medical equipment my friend and I need.The complimentary breakfast was superb. Cereals, fruit juices, toast, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, beans and tinned tomatoes all cooked to perfection. The coffee was to die for and to me, the coffee makes or breaks breakfast. The staff were very friendly and answered all questions. Plenty of parking some electrical recharge parking and overnight parking for motor homes.
