Arthur Howell Butchers

Been to this shop plenty of times , the produce is undoubtedly good. BUT today is the last I will grace this business with my custom. I will definitely find somewhere else to buy my venison in future. If this was my business I'd train my staff in customer service , how to behave and talk to my customers in a civilised manner, especially when they are buying a lot of produce and I'd sack the butcher serving today. My plan had been for a bigger purchase. I could not and would not stay in the presence of the butcher serving any longer. He knows who he is. I will make sure I tell others of my experience and identify him. Perhaps he needs to understand facial disfigurement and speech issues should not be a reason to be offensive when serving a customer and in the past and prior to this condition I was served with courtesy. Your business was lucky to get the purchase I made. Be grateful I maintained the moral high ground and did not challenge him. And no there was no queue behind me. As a friend said later your customer service is offal.

The Thai beef mix from here was superb; one pan, quick, easy and super tasty.

We invariably buy from this butcher when we stay in Wells and the meat is excellent. (Chicken or bacon bought from here doesn't ooze with water when cooked as is too often the case elsewhere.)We first shopped here because places like this will only continue to exist if visitors buy from them.We've returned many times since that first visit because of the excellent quality. We've never been let down.Always great quality food and service from Howells.

Good produce but received rather unpleasant impatient service. A lesson required in customer care perhaps.

Lovely selection of meats, speciality sausages etc. Could improve service, butchers that served me very matter of fact...recommend

Great butchers. Good produce and have a nice stock of leather and rabbit pelts. Just the thing for a crafter/leather worker.

Picked up some steak whilst on holiday. Friendly staff and decent quality meat

I went in to buy chicken wings. I asked how you cook them. I was told to google it!Appalling service. Massively overpriced food. I bought 2 duck breasts. Frozen and from France! Go Howells! We are staying at barn cottages and in the morning I pop down for back bacon to have in a bacon sarnie. Beautiful no water comes out and it tastes amazing tried their sirloin steak and it was melt in the mouth amazing. Proper nice butchers.

Expensive but great quality. The chicken kievs were absolutely amazing.
