The Novelry

The Ninety Day Novel course has been a godsend. Every day, there's a wonderful new lesson waiting. I've completed the first draft of my novel, something I never thought I'd achieve. Louise teaches the craft in the most enjoyable, accessible way.

Following the Ninety Day Novel Course has been a joy from start to finish. I am now halfway through a first draft of a novel - had I followed all the advice about the daily routine I would have finished it, but the course has left me equipped with the knowledge I need to get it done, and the support and determination to do it. The course material is varied and inspiring, the tutors always helpful and encouraging and you get to know a friendly, supportive community of other writers along the way. Fantastic.

Five stars. I'd recommend the Classic course at The Novelry. Reading familiar and new classic books with a focus on style and content made me think about my own style of prose and how I could look at improving it. I have already made changes to the novel during this course, and I'm feeling quite excited about it.Now with the Ultimate Manuscript Assessment with the editors at The Novelry, my novel has taken on a shape I never saw before. It was an invaluable process, which I will undertake with future novels. This is the place to be, folks!

I signed up to The Novelry's The 90 Day Novel to force myself to finish a languishing draft, thinking I'd use it as a prompt rather than a 'school' - I'd done enough writing courses and wasn't expecting to learn much more from the lessons. But WOW! Louise has developed a cornucopia of thought-provoking sessions and exercises that challenged the way I saw my practice and stretched my thinking and experience well beyond my comfort zone, resulting in a first draft I never thought I'd ever be able to write. And, just as predicted, I really did quickly start to come to my writing with confidence and joy. As a writer, you can't ask for much more. I'm hugely grateful that I discovered this fantastic writing course and the marvellously inspiring Louise Dean and her equally inspiring co-mentors. Thank you!

Writers with the ambition to hone their work to its best quality will find The Novelry a godsend - and the care and support I've received are second to none. I think the invaluable combination for me was the daily writing/reading and check-ins with the lessons to urge me on. If you want to write your book, sign up for the Novelry. To be honest, I didn't realize the gravity of how it would change my life before I got started. Louise tells you the truth about how difficult it is, but also lends a very strong, supporting hand (along with the other Novelry mentors). Nothing beats being tutored and learning from people who genuinely care for their students and want them to get the best work out of their own lives. The lessons are very paced and not overwhelming and you learn how to write and live the life of a writer even whilst having a busy career and kids. It's not an easy climb, but oh, I am sure glad I surmounted it with the Novelry.

I've had aspirations to write a novel for most of my life, but like so many others, finding the time, the rhythm, and the armor to make it happen with so many life-interruptions was a major challenge. When I found the Novelry I found my way. It’s happening - I’m writing my novel! The lessons are extremely fun and engaging, as is the community built around them. I have wonderful support from Louise herself in our one-on-ones - they are like giant, virtual hugs - she always seems to get me “unstuck” with poignant advice and suggestions. The formula she’s created to extract your novel onto the page is a simple one, but if followed, it really works. It provides you with the tools, structure and guidance to capture your ideas and translate them into a book readers will pick up. The Novelry Lodge and Facebook group, welcomed me into a wonderful community where you can share work and give and receive feedback on early drafts. The one to one chat with Louise helped me focus, provided me with a much needed confidence boost and gave me a plan. Louise works relentlessly to provide exciting outlets and opportunities to showcase work whether it is competitions or the chance of a VIP fast track to the top of her partner agent's submission piles. I highly recommend.

THE place to go to create the best novel you can. Louise is immensely generous with her time and advice, and her courses are superb, particularly The Classic (which set me off in an entirely new direction, writing-wise) and the new Editing course (a must to make sure your work is seen). All this and a supportive group of fellow novelists egging you on! What's not to love?
