John was fantastic all throughout from planning phase, execution phase to getting all the pictures processed within 3 days.John works as a friend and always gives the best recommendations, be it poses, locations, things to do after the photo-shoot. The pictures taken by John turned out great. I would highly recommend John for photo-shoots.P.S. - His assistant, Sabrina is pretty awesome as well. (They both suffered through chilly winds to deliver great images)

John was the first and the only photographer I got in touch with to do our wedding photographs and glad to say that I did not once regret it. At our first meeting John brought along samples of his previous work looking through which I decided to go with him.On the day of the wedding both John and his assistant worked brilliantly and patiently to ensure that they got some great shots of my family and bridesmaids and even some of my cats without getting in the way. The rest of the day was a breeze due to the sheer fact that they knew what they were doing and everyone felt at ease being photographed.John is very professional, diligent and will make you feel at ease throughout the whole process. I am extremely pleased with his work and would recommend him highly for his work and professionalism.

We met with lots of photographers before our wedding, but none came close to John. We were both blown away by John's photos and his passion for not just photography, but also for making people happy with his photos. We booked John straight away!With our package was a pre-wedding shoot which gave us an opportunity to get to know the way John works, and to feel more comfortable on the day. My (now) wife isn't a fan of having her photo taken usually, but John made us both feel relaxed, and often we didn't even realise he was taking our photos. He will go to the extra length to get that special shot, even if he's laying in the gutter of a busy road or almost falling in the river!Having the pre-wedding shoot removed any possible awkwardness on the wedding day, and John made sure that he fit around the day. Throughout the whole day he was professional, friendly, sociable and a great laugh, from the first minute until the last. The guests all commented on how lovely he was.When we received our wedding photos, we were blown away. We relived every smile, laugh and tear while looking through them. The day was captured exactly how we wanted. His understanding of photography and capturing imaginative, beautiful shots borders on ridiculous! He spots angles and photo opportunities that can only come with years of experience and passion.We could be asked a thousand times over whether we would want anyone else to have photographed our wedding, but we would choose John every time.

We absolutely loved our family photo shoot with, John Erskine Photography. John suggested we go to our favourite outdoor locations, having never done anything like it before, I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone. It's such an amazing alternative to the average family photo where you sit, posing rigid in some studio. We all quickly relaxed into a normal family adventure, John is a family man who understands the quirks of children so we could just carry on with our day while the children got up to their usual crazy antics. The images captured from our walk were made all the more special because they are treasured memories from a real family fun experience. Being out and about means, unexpected, wonderful moments can happen naturally and be preserved. Photos are of real time emotions, which you simply do not get from a staged line up or a studio appointment.My daughter has always cried and become shy in front of a camera so John's pictures of her are extra special because before booking John Erskine we didn't have a really special 'real' picture of her...now we have lots of amazing images of all of us. John's photography talents have blown us away. We will use John Erskine Photography again in a heartbeat for our next milestone moments such as my special birthday which is on the horizon! John was the perfect photographer to capture our day. From the moment he arrived he was incredibly friendly, reassuring and put myself and everyone around at ease. We knew we were in good hands! John is a true professional of his craft, as evident by his work throughout the day and the stunning resulting photos, capturing so many moments beautifully. We couldn't have asked for more.

John is a lovely energetic person who makes sure he gets a perfect and unique shot. My fiance and I had our engagement shoot with John and I was very nervous about having pictures taken of me, but John made me feel comfortable, made my fiance and I laugh and made it fun. The images produced are stunning.

John was our engagement photographer, and he was great! My fiancé and I had an absolute blast walking around and posing for him in London. He helped us feel relaxed. I don’t get embarrassed easily (and generally relish the spotlight), but my fiancé is English, so taking photos around tons of strangers in London was a sort of nightmare for him. However, John made the day fun and kept us both laughing, and it has turned into one of our favorite memories together. He also literally got down on the ground to get some great shots. He’s a great choice!

My husband Rob and I cannot thank John enough for our beautiful wedding photos! John made everyone feel totally at ease throughout the day - and certainly helped me feel calm! John and his assistant Charlotte captured the day perfectly, from the bridal party getting ready, the ceremony, dinner, speeches and the party. Looking through the photos again is almost like re-living the day itself and all our friends and family cannot get enough of them.Thank you so much John, you’re the best!

Its with regret that I have to write this review, after being wowed by the photos on Johns website I thought he was the perfect choice for our wedding, he was friendly, chatty and accommodating on the phone when we booked him.As the Big Day drew nearer we received a detailed questionnaire from John about what we wanted from the photos on our day, it would seem that he didn't take this into consideration at all. All I wanted was a handful (6) group shots, with the most important thing to be being photos of all our guests enjoying themselves....Roll forward to receiving the photos, and there's photos of only 30 of the 125 people who were there. Our request for him to take photos of each table over dinner was completely ignored, and there was just one single photo of each of my brother and sister in law, there were no photos of my parents together, not of aunts / uncles / friends - all the ones you want to cherish in your wedding album.We received 1100ish photos, but don't be fooled. There were only about 300 different photos, but each had been sent in 3-4 different filters boosting the number. To be fair, they weren't all bad, there was a handful of very arty ones which looked great, but other than that they were terrible. We communicated with John expressing our concerns and asking for all copies of every photo he took, in vein hope he had photos of the rest of the guests as we'd wanted. But he only had 130 more (which were in fact unedited versions of the ones he'd already sent us). Quite what he was doing for the 8 hours we paid him for, I have no idea, but to say we are devastated is an understatement.So, if you want a few arty shots of you on your wedding day, then go for John, if you want an accurate depiction of your day and for him to take the photos you want, find someone else.

I first met John in 2012 at a wedding Fayre where I entered his competition to win an engagement shoot.I won the shoot and have never looked back!The engagement shoot pictures were fantastic despite the venue being basic.I then obviously booked John for my wedding pictures and I’m so pleased I did. Wedding pictures are a great responsibility and I knew I was safe with John!The pictures (and John) were so amazing that my best friend then booked him for her engagement shoot and her wedding in Newcastle. (John was more than happy to travel!)Since then we just recently celebrated our 40th birthday and had to have John again to capture the moments.The pictures are as magical as our mystical themed party was.We now need to plan another event just so we can get John to take some more pictures!!!
