Sadly I had 2 say goodbyeTo my 2nd dog Bernie yesterday. Although westway is not my normal vets they dealt with my 1st dog having 2 b put 2 sleep at 15 so well when it was bernies time thats where i wanted to go. The vet think her name was Marianne was sooooo lovely. I was never rushed and her compassion was so nice. She made lossing my baby torralable. She has it just right. The reception staff knew i was coming and I didn't have 2 even open my mouth which was gr8. Thank u from the bottom of my heart 4 yr compassion and his peacefull end. The vet treat him like my baby when she took him away. U r all amazing.

Thank you so much for treating my cat (not going to show the nasty photos) even though it was out of hoursWe found our cat with a piece of mettle in his cheek which later found to be a bullet and he wet himself on the journey up to the vets and you couldn't have been more professional and calm The vet team were a star from start to Finnish and the journey throughout was smooth And informativeHe's now at home resting up andThanks once again ☺️From Dylan and Harvey (cat).

Absolutely shocking service and refusal to take a cat in and asking me to release at hood street Newcastle a busy street is not acceptable. Yes you scan her and yes she was not a stray but this from. Vet is beyond a joke. I tried to release She was nearly hit by a bus so came back where you pulled shutters down and refused to let her backThreaten police. I even offered to pay to board her over night and I would come back the next day to take her to cat rescue. I rang police 4 times. You told me it was illegal to leave her but it was not.

Our dog Benson who was 14 1/2 started showing signs of stiff joints due to Arthritis earlier in the year. Christina a vet who works at Blaydon and at the West Rd branch began Benson’s consultations is brilliant and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She always showed compassion for Benson and us and respected our wishes and never tried to push additional treatments. Christina gave us some options to think about but always respected what we wanted to do at the same time.Unfortunately Benson had got to a point in his life where it would of been selfish of us to keep him going as he was in pain and lost the ability to walk. After a really bad night I made the call to Westway and explained he couldn’t go on and this was the right time to put him to sleep. They agreed to see him straight away to minimise his pain and stress and following our instruction they did the right thing for Benson with dignity and respect for him.I have to admit Christina and all the staff we came into contact with, gave us 14 1/2 years of amazing care for Benson. As heartbreaking this is to write, but thank you for looking after our little boy Benson.

Countless terrible experiences at this vets. Our more recent experience was the final straw. Our dog has a corneal ulcer and requires plasma drops which need to be applied every 2 hours and can only be used for 72hours. We received a second lot of eye drops Saturday which were to start8pm that evening. We went to go use them that evening to find there was no dropper so we couldn’t use. Therefore we have lost a whole days worth of product until we could go and speak to them the following day. Went first thing Sunday morning for them to tell us they’ll just give us the dropper. We explained no we’ve now lost 24hours of use of this product from their error therefore they need to replace. They flatly refused to do this and instead charged us again for the product. They sold us a faulty item and made us buy another hats product. Utterly in dismay at the poor level of customer service shown. Will be escalating this further as this is surely a breach of trading standards.Further to this I checked a cost price of one of the eye drops they supplied to us at the wholesaler at the pharmacy I work at. The cost price was £2.5, they charged us £38. That’s a 1500% mark up on the drug cost.Be warned this company is out for nothing but money and greed.Edit: Just in relation to the response by Westway. We did email all our concerns to the email mentioned and never received a reply.

There was a bad experience from this branch. My dog was neutered and failed. After the post check, they claimed that they would not charge the 2nd surgery and provide the required medication. After the next day, they arranged the surgery but suddenly they told us my dog just need time to recovery, no need to attempt surgery and gave us the medicine. After few days, we received an email invoice charge us that we need to pay for the medication. We never been told this required payment and we told them the vet confirmed we do not have to pay anything on the post check. After investigation, they told us due to internal communication between their vets, but we still have to pay 50% of the medication.Their business is extremely not reliable, and they found the debt collection service and tell them the 50% offer is expired before the date they offered to us. Everything is ridiculous and unreliable, they cannot comply what they promised.

Recently had to bring my 23 year old cat in because she took a bad turn. The vet squeezed me into the clinic to see her. Had to bring her in to say goodbye yesterday and again they managed to get me in as soon as possible. Staff were lovely and the vets really understanding. They gave me an extra month with my baby girl and I'm forever thankful to them for it .

Just a post from me and my family to thank Westway Vets on West Road for looking after Lola during her final few months. Lola went to heaven in March of this year, the care and love she received from the staff at Westway Veterinary Group was more than we could have ever of wished for. ❤️

I can not stress enough how unprofessional and unethical this practice is. DO NOT USE THIS VETS.£140 later for a ulcer on my dogs eye, after a second consultation we were advised he would need another course of ‘plasma eyedrops’ which cost a further £25.On that evening we tried to use the drops but there was no ‘topper’ to pour into my dogs eye. We had to use these drops every two hours so after multiple attempts of trying to pour the drops into my dogs eyes we gave up and decided we would go back in the morning to advise of the incompetence and get a new drops.Upon arrival the receptionist spoke to me like I had just spat on her grave, total jobsworth when I was simply trying to correct THEIR mistake. After explaining the situation the receptionist spoke Asif it was my fault? That I should have came back and got the stopper, at 8pm?.Long story short, we were given a new bottle of plasma and advised we would have to pay again!!! So we had ti pay an additional £25 because of this practices incompetence.Filed numerous complaints and reported to trading standards. Nothing but scam artists. We have since changed vets (I suggest anyone in the westerhope/Ponteland area to do the same) to the vets in Ponteland who charge less for consultations with follow up consultations £35 (not the extortionate £50 westway charge for ALL appointments).AVOID THIS VETS AT ALL COST.
