Saint Mary's Church

Lovely building. We used it as a break out room for a Pioneer leaders conference. We only had to walk a few steps from Community Church, Central Hall, down the road.

Very special place with its history,stone work and quite feel on the place even though its close to busy city centre and colledge near by.Loved the tea and coffe station right in front as you walk through the doors.

I haven't been inside but the outside is a place that deserve a quick visit. The field around is quiet and offers you good sights of the church. The church looks good and almost impressive. Is not like other touristic buildings in Southampton that they are in busy areas, this is standing alone with a lot of space around.

I'm Brazilian, I've lived in the city for 2 years and I still didn't know any church in the city. I felt very welcomed, very loving, attentive people. Environment full of the Holy Spirit. Thank you ♡

Lovely to see the inside of St Mary's clean again. Great to know the younger generations are making a spiritual home here. They need an extension .... where has the devotional statue of St. Mary gone? Was used by so many cultures to aid prayers.

Modern, clean and aseptic church. From the outside you cannot tell how austere is the inside. It is not bad, it simply lacks any tourist interest

After spending the past 60 years attending the Elim Pentecostal church in Sholing Southampton, we sadly had to close the building due to Falling numbers which meant it was no longer viable to keep the building open. This of course means that my wife and I after spending a combined total of 103 years attending the Elim Church now need to find another church fellowship in Southampton that we could call home. On February 26th 2023 we visited St Mary's Church in Chapel Street Southampton and I have to say that from the moment we entered the building I was blown away by the fantastic welcome afforded to us by the church welcome team. It would be fair to say that this is an extremely vibrant church full of families with young children, and because of the universities in Southampton of course there was plenty of young students as well! But more importantly it was easily recognisable that this is a spirit led church! Which was not only apparent during a time of teaching but also during the time of worship in which the worship team were very sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit. Personally I believe this is a church fellowship that I could settle into quite easily but it's important for my wife and I to be listening to the Lord's leading and so will continue looking for a couple of weeks before making a decision on where to settle.

Went too the service of remembrance for all the people who were homeless. Very touching service.
