Lovely little find on a bike ride along the canal from Wigan. Superb, fast, and friendly service. Beautiful setting and the food and drinks were great. Will definitely be returning for a longer evening at this lovely pub.

Really nice place with a lovely ambience, service was great, our waiter Jensen was fantastic. Potatoes were a little bit dry, and could've done with a bit more gravy, but these are minor quibbles and we'd definitely come again. Would recommend!

Lovely atmospheric pub. Service was attentive while waitress Debs gave us time and space to catch up telling us to shout when we were ready. Debs- you were really helpful and mindful of our communication needs thank you!Chicken & Ham pie with veg and mash was nice... pastry maybe a bit too crispy - amazed I cut it without it flying off! I asked for more gravy and a small jug was quickly delivered.Seafood grill was very highly rated- they said one of the best I've had in a pub... worth every penny"Ham egg and chips was enjoyed as was the Risotto. Reasonable value for a meal.Quaint atmospheric pub with lots of interesting nooks

Beautiful setting, lovely staff. Food very disappointing and not as expected. Starters of garlic mushroom on crumpet very unappetising and the chicken pate was tasty but butter on top was hard to spread and virtually inedible. Chutney was tasty. Main course was not as ordered consisting of small pieces of steak on a hard bun, mustard, chips, gravy and salad. I actually ordered an 8oz rump steak. The server offered to change it but my partner had already started on his sirloin steak and didn’t want it ‘warming up’ whilst my food was prepared. I ate the steak pieces which were nice and the chips but i don’t like mustard or salad. My partner said his food was edible and his steak was ok but not the best he’s ever tasted. My partner paid in full for the meal and left a tip for the service - but we weren’t even offered a discount, a complimentary coffee or even an apology. It was our first and last time at this restaurant. We only called in because we are looking for a venue to take our family for a good meal in January. Sadly it will not be Malthouse Farm.

Unexpectedly great pub - lovey inside and a good varied menu. The kids menus at Chef and Brewer are really great - our little one loves that he can get a mini steak.

Went for our work Christmas lunch. Service was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meals. Even though it is quite big, it felt homely and cosy. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks Malthouse Farm.

My dad recommended this place to me we went for my birthday family meal yesterday. The staff were extremely welcoming and the manager did everything in her power to have the 12 of us sat as close together as physically possible. This was greatly appreciated. The dedicated member of staff was literally there every single time someone needed a drink or anything else she was brilliant. The food came out extremely quick for 12 people. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you for making my birthday that extra special. Thank you to you all. Highly recommended and will return.

Mixed views around our table. Some food was average. Some was good. I tried to order a special of venison, but they only offered it cooked rare or well done, so I couldn’t order it medium. Very strange. On a positive the beer was very good.

Upon arriving the fireplaces were lit and there was such a warm inviting atmosphere, there are dogs allowed here so I immediately got to stroke a puppy so... Day made! Haha I was seated within a minute of entering. The food was delicious and well presented I especially loved the desserts and the staff were efficient and polite. Would recommend to anyone! Topped it off with a lovely cappuccino too!
