The Carpenter's Arms
I had high hopes for this place as it seems to have a lot of fans.My first impression was how shabby it is particularly jarring in its location. The upstairs private room is pleasant, but getting to it is quite odd, and the loo on the landing looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the pub was built. The food is OK but rather simple, bearing in mind the price. One of the ales was off, which happens, but they continued to serve it after I'd pointed this out.In conclusion - highly overrated.

On our way to visit the Fuller's brewery, we stopped here for a drink and a short break. And what a lovely place we found : the pub is very nice and lovely decorated, but its gem is its terrace ! Full of flowers, trees, plants, it's the perfect place to enjoy your drinks or meals (we didn't try it but the menu has nice dishes - all homemade with locally grown ingredients based on the sign at the entrance). We don't feel like you're in the middle of a big city. Team is very nice and friendly, we'll definitely be back to try the food (and Chiswick is a very nice are btw). Thanks

Went to a wedding here and it was the best wedding I've ever been to. The team was so accommodating, attentive and friendly and the food was the best wedding food I've ever had - everyone agreed! The staff also decorated the venue beautifully - would recommend!

The Carpenters Arms is a traditional pub located in Hammersmith, London. It has been serving locals and visitors alike for over 150 years. The pub is known for its friendly atmosphere, its wide selection of beers and ciders, and its delicious food. The Carpenters Arms is a great place to go for a drink with friends or family. The pub has a large bar area with plenty of seating, and there is also a beer garden out back. There is a good selection of ciders, wines, and spirits. The Carpenters Arms also has a good reputation for its food. The pub offers a variety of pub classics, such as fish and chips, burgers, and pies. There are also a few more unusual dishes on the menu, such as the black pudding scotch egg.The Carpenters Arms is a great place to go for a relaxing drink or a meal. The pub is friendly and welcoming.

I live one minute around the corner. Rarely come here. Tonight really fancied a pint after work with loved ones, met there and was immediately asked if we had a reservation. I said no and started walking to the bar to order a drink. I was waved at and the Italian sounding man asked “sorry but you can only stay for 45 minutes.”Sums the place up.I’ve eaten and drunk here countless times over the last 13 years and can only say it is at its worst right now.Seriously what kind of pub asks you if you have a reservation and then tells you there’s a limit to how long you can stay?Food used to be excellent now it’s overpriced and not excellent. It’s run by people who DON’T KNOW what a pub is.As for reviews saying the food is good and unpretentious, do we live in different worlds? The place is full of one type of person only. If you go there you’ll know what I mean. It’s not a pub.Nipped around the corner to a proper pub, full of every type of person imaginable. Townies, poshoes, weirdos, construction workers, media types, old people with dogs, the best atmosphere and ended up meeting lovely people and having a great time as usual. I don’t mind that “type of person” I mentioned before. I get on with all types. But The Cross Keys around the corner is a proper boozer not this pretentious rubbish.I am one for always retrying places that I previously judged I don’t really like, but tonight’s visit confirmed all my pre-existing ideas. My review is not based on having walked in and walked out tonight, I’ve eaten and drunk here a few times under the current management. Will avoid for the foreseeable, perhaps until it comes under new management … again.

How incredibly disappointing. In brief,Ridiculously slow service, white wine served warm, starters came out 1 by 1 in a sluggish fashion. It was then an hour and a half until the mains arrived.(Managed to get another bottle of wine out of us - this wasn't comped).Once our mains did arrive, (2x roast pork, 1x roast chicken and 1x vegetarian pie) we were baffled to see the roasts served all on one plate on a sad bed of lettuce...a few small cuts of each meats, evidently the scraps from the kitchen (The chicken once cut to the bone, looked considerably under cooked.)No utensils were provided to portion out the plate and when I questioned the portion sizes, the manager offered to get us some more, but never returned. They also didn't have any apple sauce to go with the pork (once again they are charging £25 for a portion of pork shoulder...mixed in with chicken it seems.) Just not good enough. If this was a wetherspoons I might be in a more forgiving mood, but at £25 a roast, these prices are obscene for the quality of food and level of service.I can only say that I am frustrated to not have gotten the name of our sever, who really had her hands tied behind her back by a complete absence of management - she truly is a fantastic asset and a real gem to the Carpenter's Arms - I would suggest that she is made Manager asap.To not end on a complete sour note - the watermelon and cucumber soup was stunning.I am saddened to read similar reviews online - I think management need a serious huddle.

Nice pub.Food offering might look pretty slim and pretentious: it actually is, but these guys know what they're doing and definitely deliver in taste.Weather permitting, the backyard garden is also a nice setting to just have a refreshing beer or a full meal.

Had dinner there with my friend. Food is nice but expensive, service charge 12.5% we had the lobster and mushroom risotto. Baked cheese cake was good. When I was back to see my friend in this area we will probably go to another local place as this pub is missing something that would make us return regularly.
