The majority of the staff are truly amazing and I believe their care for the residents is genuine, there are some who deserve a special thanks for the work that they do. However, it's unfortunate that they always appear to be working on bare minimum staffing levels - this means that the staff often appear overworked, unable to completely fulfil their roles to the best of their ability and the residents can often be left waiting for the attention they may need. The entrance to the home is often pleasantly welcoming but this can be deceiving. Despite the efforts of the hardworking cleaners/domestics, they simply cannot keep up with the demands of a large, full to capacity care home. The cleanliness can often be below par, there is often parts that have not been cleaned and food and other messes not removed or cleaned. After handling cutilery and other food wear, I can say that it's not satisfactorily clean either. The food menu at times is questionable at best and likely should be reviewed to meet a more modern standard of diet.My personal belief is the upper management of the home have issues with honesty and transparency. The care home manager, despite her lovely and generally professional conduct, will say whatever she feels necessary that day. My experience of the deputy is minimal, however it's not good experience; rude, clueless and one of the biggest ultracrepidarians I have ever encountered.I would never consider placing any other family member here.

My father Ken Wood who was ninety three when he passed away, spent the last six months of his life here. Even though he had dementia he was treat with dignity, respect and kindness. The managers and staff were brilliant with him. He was properly looked after in both his physical and mental needs. His room was always kept clean and tidy. It was warm and comfortable. Dad was able to move about freely. He enjoyed his food particularly as the meals at the Grange were very good. My only regret is that we didn't know about the Grange Care Home sooner. Dad was happy there. If you are looking for a Care Home that is properly managed by trained, professional staff, this is it.

I’m happy to make a review. My husband has been in the Grange for a year, it was a very difficult decision to make.David has Dementia and I could no longer keep his safe at home. The staff are kind & caring.Burlington Care should be very proud of the standard of their staff.I visit my husband most days and take one of my dogs with me ,who seems to go down very well with lots of the people that live there, and it makes me happy to see them react with my dog Mabel. 5 stars .

My mother has been living at The Grange Care Home for 9 months now and after a little bit of a bumpy start, I can honestly say I feel safe having her there. I live in Scotland and it is particularly hard having her so far away but the staff have been brilliant with me as has Carmen the Manager. We lost my stepfather very recently and the bereavement support for my mother has been unbelievable including the incredible patience the staff have shown me over the phone – there have been some days where I’ve called twice to check in to see how she was coping and every time, each staff member has taken the time to give me a full update on how she’s been. The have also been doing 1:1 sessions with her since my stepfather died; real pastoral support, including lovely preparation for the funeral.I have sat there in the lobby of the home a couple of times when staff were getting called in all directions to respond to the needs of the residents, respond to visitors, specialist medical staff and the phone constantly ringing and I’ve come to realise the incredible challenges attached to the role of caring for our elderly and vulnerable folk. They also seem to be a strong and confident team and I have heard them praise one another on a number of occasions and speak kindly about the residents. On the day of my stepfather’s funeral, one of the staff, Sally was on a day off and walked down from dropping her daughter off at nursery to come in and give my Mother some TLC. You can’t really buy that kind of human goodness.I hated it when she went into The Grange and I was quite a ‘demanding’ and ‘assertive’ family member at the outset, but my concerns were taken on board and I felt that my mother’s particular needs were respected. I heard it said regularly during the early months of the COVID Pandemic that our Carers were undervalued. I really appreciate that now having watched it in action first-hand. They are doing an incredible job in really challenging circumstances and the staff at the Grange are exemplary. Particular thanks to Colleen, Sylvia. Courtney. Fran, Magda, Amy and Charlie and of course the wonderful Sally. If I were to choose only one word to describe the culture in the home, it is compassionate.
