Fantastic place and value, staff very professional and friendly and for a vegetarian wonderful food.Things I would Improve on if it was my hotelWe came for our anniversary as stated on the email a card/a few chocs in the room or a plate with happy anniversary on the plate after our meal would of made it special or staff acknowledging it as we arrived also.Outside of spa need painting and inside the pool area the rain was coming in at the side of my lounger i put my towel down to absorb the puddle forming. There was no availability for a treatment (staff shortage) but should be providing treatments into the evening.Room could do with a fridge and pelmets re attaching and the windows woke us as they rattled when windy. In the main eating area which was lovely the curtains just need taking down and ironingAlso availability of cocktails would increase profitAll simple inexpensive touches

Beautiful hotel in stunning location. We had a beautiful room that was so comfortable. The leisure centre was great.Good choice of breakfasts, and did in the restaurant is very good. The one downfall- the lift was out of order and we were on the 3rd floor.

Came for the weekend to take part in the xmas fayre and stayed the night. The atmosphere was brilliant, we got given a hospitality drink for holding a stall we were looked after. Our evening meal was amazing and I can definitely recommend the honey combe cheese cake. If there there was one criticism would just be the bathroom could definitely do with a revamp but all in all lovely and I'll be backThank you for your hospitality

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location made even more special because of the staff. The room overlooked the river, restaurant food really good and worth the price tag. Staff, friendly, quick and nothing too much trouble... A real credit to the hotel and just made the whole experience amazing

Great hotel, couldn't fault it!Yes the decor is a bit old fashioned BUT the service from staff (Janet on reception and staff on the restaurant) was spot on, the food was fab and the location was great!Lovely lil hotel, well worth a visit.

Staff were friendly on arrival, reception looked amazing, however when we got in the room it was disappointing, the bathroom shower barely worked and leaked all over the floor, the bathroom cabinets were hanging off the walls. The electrical items were out of date for testing. Our window would not shut as the wood at the top of the sash window was broken. The view was beautiful and listening to the river was very relaxing. We decided to use the spa and was told someone in reception would provide towels, there was no one in reception to speak to. But when they finally came back they was very helpful.Pool was freezing and the whole place needs a refurb as things are old and falling apart. For the money we paid for bed and breakfast, it really wasn’t worth it.Breakfast was pleasant and there was a few choices. The location of this hotel is stunning however it would need a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to standard, especially for the price they are charging.

Wow what a beautiful location for this lovely hotel. There is so much history in the building. Staff were fantastic on check in and our room was lovely with a huge bathroom and shared balcony. Hotel was very busy as it was bank holiday weekend but nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was lovely and we really enjoyed everything.

For a last minute booking it was extremely helpful, as our previously booked hotel was out of service due to the snow. The rooms were relatively comfy but got too hot especially at night. They had complementary cookies and teas on the side bench of the room, which was lovely. The view from our window was very pretty especially in the morning, so the location from an aesthetics point of view was quite nice with all the melting snow. The distance from the hotel to other areas was quite far and not in-walking distance, so vehicle travel will be a must if you stay here. The complimentary breakfast was OK, would be better if it was in a buffet format rather than order-format. The service was alright, the receptionists were always very kind to us. The restaurant server had a bit of a quirk the first night we were around, but the bar staff were very sweet especially ordering something quick for me to eat after the lunch cooking period had finished. Additionally, the wait-time for dinner was extremely long and it took about 50 minutes for food to come out after we had initially ordered it and it was about 25 minutes for dessert. Would recommend for a short-stay but go elsewhere for dinner especially.

Just had a lovely stay, everything was perfect. The spa experience and afternoon tea was amazing and excellent value for money. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable we stayed in a family room which was lovely and warm. The facilities at the pool are lovely with a gym, pool, sauna couldn't ask for anything more. Will definatley visit again.

Me and my partner were both shocked at the way the owner of the hotel was scolding and talking down to the receptionist in a very condescending way and very loudly at that, when we were booking out.I firstly thought this woman, who appeared disabled, hobbling around with a stick or walking stick was a very obnoxious rude customer or a member of the public giving the receptionist abuse, but we shortly found out to our horror that she was the owner of the hotel !As with other comments made from other customers who had stayed at, The Whitewater Hotel, we can relate to their comments, water pressure low, hotel needs a little updating, but it was the amount of tatty chairs that caught our eye.If they can't afford nice tidy chairs then the best idea I think would put them in places less noticeable, not in the foyer or being the first chairs noticeable in the lounge areas. The most important mention here though was the rudeness from the owner of the hotel in front of the public or even if it's out of the public eye, is disgusting and staff shouldn't accept it's very very wrong!
