It's not overstating it to say that Andrew, Molly and the whole HCB team were absolutely top-notch. Helped us to a successful EHCB outcome but what's almost as important was the way they went about it; not least the transparency & predictability of costs. Can't think of what more you'd want in an advocate.

This company acted for me in the recent sale of my house. They did an adequate job of the conveyancing (it was a very straightforward sale) although the communication was extremely hit and miss and it felt like the estate agent was doing a lot of the leg work for them. The problem came when the sale completed and the money was not transferred to my bank account although I had paid for a telegraphic transfer. As this was over a weekend, I spent an extremely anxious 48 hours before I could contact them to sort this out. Despite me sending two e-mails and leaving three messages for the person handling my sale over the weekend and first thing on Monday, no priority at all was afforded to me. When they finally transferred the money, I was told by Bethan that her message to the finance department to send me the funds had not left her outbox and she hadn’t realised as she left the office early!The company have not afforded me the courtesy of acknowledging or replying to a mail requesting an apology and financial recompense for the loss of interest on this money.I am horrified by a legal firm who do not have adequate systems in place to ensure that a junior member of staff’s work is not checked, thus allowing this sort of error to occur.Next time I will use a firm where I can have personal contact with my legal representative and ensure that I have confidence in my solicitors abilities.

Absolutely amazing solicitors. LA were completely uncooperative agreeing they knew needed SLD school but as couldn’t place him they named a mainstream. HCB Widdows Mason, specifically liaising with Maria Racz-Makany who provided a prompt and efficient service and was very responsive every time I contacted her, and also Helen Edwards who took on my university education dispute with a very short timeframe of 4 days until my deadline- as I only decided to obtain legal assistance at the last minute. Helen was also extremely efficient and responsive when I had contacted her. This was at extremely short notice and there was a significant amount of information for Helen to absorb and understand before she developed a document for my university appeal stage 2. She had to gain an understanding of my university dispute which had been going on for over 12 months, which included 3x extenuating circumstance submissions which uni rejected, an early resolution stage complaint, an appeal which had been rejected- therefore there was an extensive amount of information for Helen to take on board and understand before creating the document for my university appeal stage 2.
