We have just returned from another week this year.Our first was in March for my 61st birthday unfortunately our GSD Hogan was poorly on the Friday so we had to travel on the Saturday, they were supposed to be attending a wedding but waited for us to arrive, cannot thank them enough.We had a fantastic time, there is nothing that you need everything has been thought of.We loved our visit so much we booked another week which we have just returned.I cannot express the friendship that you have here they are like your best friends and cannot do enough for you, they are there if you need anything but also give you all the space you want.All the facilities are perfect, the bed is very comfortable, the shower is nice, TV and Wi-Fi is good quality.There is a pub in the village and is very dog friendly, the beer is nice and the food is great, the staff spoil your dog.There are some very nice walks and beautiful scenery all the locals are very nice.We are now booking for March 23, you will not be disappointed

Excellent place to visit and stay

This was our second stay in this wonderful log cabin and we have already booked another week in March next year. Tracy and Richard really are the perfect hosts. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel special. I can't emphasise enough how friendly, welcoming and helpful they are.As for the log cabin, it is wonderful: clean, tidy and fully equipped with all you're likely to need during your stay. If you're a fan of wildlife, you won't be disappointed. Be entertained by the squirrels' exploits as they perform their high wire act, and expect a daily visit from the peacocks hoping you'll feed them some sunflower seeds. In fact, there's an enormous variety of birds coming down to feast at the bird table.There are so many delightful locations to see in this part of the lovely county of Dorset, and Ridgeway Log Cabin is perfectly located to visit them all. It really is the ideal base to explore all the area has to offer.However, if all you want to do is just relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life, you can't do better than this.

We stayed during the first week of June 23 and absolutely loved it. A warm welcome from the hosts who ran through everything. Everything you could think of has been provided. The gardens are beautiful with peacocks, pheasants and much wildlife roaming around. Despite a quality TV and Wi-fi connection I spent more time just watching it all go by. This place isn’t just a base to stay while on holiday, it is such a wonderful retreat from the world that seriously recharges your batteries.The kitchen facilities are perfect but there are great places to eat, and I’d highly recommend The White Horse at Hinton St. Mary and Fiddleford Inn for great food and both dog friendly.The hosts were beyond amazing. So friendly and I got to handfeed the peacock thanks to them, so a great holiday memory. They are very approachable and make you feel like there is nothing you can’t ask them for (not that we needed to as everything is thought of). They are easy going and yet give you all the space you need and very understanding after a breakage!It was a great base in reach of many wonderful places to visit such as Sculptures by the Lake in Dorchester, Sherborne, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Monkey World, Longleat, Tout Quarry Sculpture Park and Nature Reserve.We hope to return as we had such a wonderful time, in a beautiful place with fantastic hosts in such a breath-taking area.
