I had a fault on my boiler that they said was the fan. They did an unsuccessful repair. They then installed a new boiler and didn't do a new flue hole even though the new boiler was a lot bigger and so themagnetiser was millimetres away from my kitchen work surface that when boxed in I lost preparation space. They said the install was fine!Then when my 2nd boiler (I have 2 holiday lets) had a fault they wanted to order a part so I decided to call my old company JPR (after losing trust in Clarkes) they came, adjusted something and it worked great for 2 years, no part needed.Clarkes also gave my boiler an annual service/safety that wasn't for a landlord, but for an occupier even though the guy handling it knew both places were holiday lets.Today I also heard from someone else that while the customer was in hospital they installed the boiler again in the original place rather than the instructed place and ignored the problems they created for the customer.They also blew the render on my exterior wall due to not even using the right drill piece, a £700+ increase for a lesser boiler than I'm now quoted 2 years later for the next boiler than needs replacing.Did I mention them quoting for a 'glowworm'? boiler when I asked for a quote for valiant and told me end of day let them know (so I could get the repair done by the end of week) but then were totally unreachable...Altogether a company that is not looking after their customers and is better suited to the schools etc they do work for.I was also quoted £500+ to move the boiler up a foot so I can have my kitchen work surface back.There are far better companies out there. I was abroad though and misplaced my trust in a company with a big name.

Always very professional and competent. They do our commercial gas safety test on our commercial kitchens every year and I've never had any reason to complain. The engineers always show up on time on the day booked. They can be very busy so it is always worth booking well in advance, especially at the start of the season when all businesses are requiring gas safety checks and similar.

Had a £30k system installed by Clarkes 3 1/2 yrs ago. Had it regularly serviced by Clarkes, this winter, system has gradually become unresponsive. Called the emergency engineer out last night, diagnosed faulty pump. No response from Clarkes today. When I called, I was fobbed off by a jobsworth who basically said it was tough luck, you'll have to wait a month for a replacement and it was out of warranty so I'll have to pay up front.What is it with these Island businesses that treat customers like this!!!

After previously being impressed we hired Clarkes to plumb in a shower for us. After having someone come out twice to stop a leak it leaked behind the wall and onto our lounge furniture through the ceiling, causing the plaster to come away, We run an air bomb and needed it repairing quickly. It happened on a Friday and guests were arriving for the weekend. We deducted the repair costs from the bill and despite the poor service they continue to pursue us for payment on less than less than satisfactory work. Unfair and unreasonable.

When a lovely bird was trapped behind a gas fire in my flat Sam was round straight away after Kay from the IOW Wild Bird Rehabilitation Mr 'Wally' Awol and friends" called. Great service and saved the birdie!"

Excellent service from this company. Had no hot water late Friday night. They fitted us in at short notice on the Saturday. Part was needed which was sorted by the office and fitted Tuesday. Superb service. Engineer really friendly and professional. Would 100% recommend this company.

Had an issue with my combi boiler. I called the emergency engineer and they arrived as promised. The spare part was ordered on the Monday and fitted on Thursday. Excellent service, professional staff, reasonable price....!!!!
