I love training at Westwood - the instructors are so knowledgeable and helpful, and there is always a really friendly atmosphere. There is training every day of the week at various locations around the Southend area. Can't recommend highly enough!

This is the headquarters of the Westwood Karate Academy.. AKA Honbu dojo.. it’s a fully matted training facility with changing and other facilities..The club has a number of other dojos in the nearby areas including The chase, Rayleigh leisure centre and Clements hall.. The club itself is a very friendly group with some very competent instructors.. I have come to Westwood as a senior dan grade and been accepted completely into the club.. After 30+ years of training, I can honestly say that is quite rare and says a lot about the ethos of the club and it’s insteuctors.. The chief instructor, Sensei Alan Parrish, has a huge knowledge base gained from training, teaching and competing at a very high level.. The club also offers, through its affiliations, the opportunity to train with many world class international instructors.. It also offeres the opportunity train and compete at local, national, European and world events..
