It's just a lovely way to spend a few hours on the beautiful River Dart.Leave from Dartmouth quayside and sail upriver to Dittisham to enjoy a beer or lunch at the riverside pub there. Perhaps pop over to the other side of river on the little ferry and visit the National Trust property of Greenway (house of Agatha Christie). Then back to picturesque Dartmouth. Journey time each way is about 20 minutes...perfect on a sunny day.

Great way to get to the National Trust property, although there is quite a steep walk to the house. Captain gives a short commentary on the way pointing out places of interest. Takes 30 mins to get there.

Went on an hour long river cruise on the Greenway and Dittisham ferry, got the first boat of the day at 10 and had it to ourselves on the return journey. Nice views of the river and passing steam train

Even though the weather was terrible we had a great journey to Greenway from Dartmouth. We spent some time at the house and were able to stand outside on the return. Beautiful views from the house and ferry.

Cruise up the Dart to the home of Agatha Christy, Greenway. Sailings are about every hour (check the timetable) and it cost £34 for a family of four. We went in low season and in appalling weather so it wasn’t busy but I’d guess in high season booking ahead would be advisable. The ferry provides good views of the Dart and the Captain adds a little unobtrusive commentary as you sail. There is a basic refreshment service offering drinks. All in all a reliable service.

It was a pity we were there just a bit early in the year, because the weather would have been fantastic for the cruise along the Jurassic coast. The only cruise on offer was the short 'loop cruise. The way back is to far away from the coast
