I’m surprised this hotel doesn’t have more stars. It’s the second time we have stayed to go and see the lights and the hotel is great in every aspect. I stay in 4-5 star hotels on a regular basis due to work and this hotel is so welcoming, clean, modern but yet cosy as well if that makes sense? The staff can’t do enough, there’s always entertainment and it simply just works. Location is ideal given it’s a few minutes walk from the tower so nice and central and once again we can’t praise the staff enough. We stayed in a premium king room and the decor and facilities are great. Check in and out is easy and smooth and the prices are more than reasonable for what you get. I’d 100% recommend this hotel. Ps : They do have garaged car parking as long as you book it in advance if it’s available.

Lovely hotel in great location for main drag. The downside is hotel garage parking £20 is expensive unless you want to park public for £12. Entertainment on every night and the dinner service was spot on, lovely presentation and food quality 1st class.

The stars of the show were definitely the staff. Couldn’t be more helpful or friendly. So accommodating and welcoming at all times. The hotel itself definitely had that seaside town charm and although the rooms were a little dated, the shower was amazing and overall it was a lovely hotel. We ate in the hotel bar restaurant for dinner one night after staff recommended it and must say the onion rings are sublime! A must have!If you’re looking for a hotel in the middle of the action with safe parking then definitely book!

We did not stay here, but we booked into there spa/retreat and afterwards had afternoon tea. Wow is the only words we have. From the minute we walked in till we finished, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The overall experience was spotless.

Came to the Ruskin for my 70th with a group of friends thinking we were going to a just standard place. How wrong we were. Fantastic cannot recommend it highly enough. From the room staff, reception, bar and catering staff they cannot do enough for you and so genuinely friendly. The entertainment was the best we've seen in any hotel and in fact some cruise ships. We have booked again for another birthday bash and may book for another ad hoc couple of days. Great Monday to Friday break. Thank you

On arrival, our bags were taken to our room, while we parked the car in the hotel's locked garage. The room was small but looked clean enough at first glance. I found it strange the sink was not in the on suite, it was on the opposite side of the bedroom. The shower temperature was unpredictable no matter what temperature it started on. On closer inspection, the edges and corners of the shower tray and on suite needed a good scrub. The food was good in the bar and the restaurant. The cabaret bar gets full very early on. We had been for a walk along the length of the promenade, so we went in around 8.30 pm. There were no seats as other guests were saving them for friends. We were told abruptly by an unfriendly member of the bar staff that we could not stand at the bar. He then flicked his finger at the corner of the room and told us to look there. His customer service was shocking, so we just left the cabaret bar. Can't comment on the show as didn't get to see it.Car parking is from 11 am on your day of arrival but you can't check-in till 3 pm. It also only runs to 11 am on your departure day. This is not made clear on the website, we were also not advised on check-in that this was the case. This lead to the gentleman receptionist who checked us in and out being frustrated when we asked to come back for the car at 12 pm. We were shocked when told we had to check the car out at 11 am. He just kept saying not that's not possible. After asking to speak to the manager we were told 12 pm was okay on this occasion.

Visited this hotel for the first time earlier this week. The meal I had at lunch time was excellent, nicely presented and of very good quality. The decor and soft furnishings are tasteful and everywhere appeared pristine . The place was 'buzzing' and it is clearly a very popular place to stay there were plenty of visitors arriving who were part of their regular guests as Coach tours stop there choosing The Ruskin as one of their preferred places to stay whilst visiting the NW. They rooms and corridors are all clean and well kept and the larger rooms intended for family rooms and the guest who wants that little bit extra are equipped not only with the 'usual' tea and coffee facilities but also have modern coffee machines . I understand also that the Entertainment included in the price there is great and there seems to be something for everyone, they have themed events eg. 60's ,Comedians,Singers all of which take to the stage in their Cabaret Room . I have not personally attended an event in The Ruskin but I hear from guests that have gone along that they have enjoyed the performances and the ambience. The Hotel is open to non residents for lunches, afternoon teas ,both of which I must add are of extremely excellent value. All the Staff were very welcoming ,cheery and helpful. They also have their own Entertainments Manager who is also the resident singer and comedian along with other actsAll in all its a great place to stay either as a lone traveller or as a family.Oct 2023.
