Consistently good service. It can be difficult to get an appointment but, if you really need it, they'll find a way.

I've been a patient here now for 14/15 months. I have to say to say, useless if you actually want to see a GP. Phone line always busy. Call back always late. Call for an appointment within a three hour time slot and usually just be passed to others.I have tried three times for an appointment over the year and been passed to the eye clinic at Hallamshire (for an issue they said should be resolved easily by the GP), to another clinic (because they were too busy to fit me in, otherwise I can go to the Hallamshire again), and lastly for an issue with my foot - send me to the WALK-IN centre (oh, the irony). I have received a telephone consultation and email consultation. What about SEEING a doctor? When I did actually see a GP, she didn't read my files and suggested treatment not suitable for a stroke patient. Also, I had issues with gum bleeding, begged (BEGGED) them for antibiotics - they refused. Had to get a letter from a consultant to put on record that my condition would necessitate receiving them. The only good thing through this 14 odd months, and the only reason they get 2 stars, the administration of CoVid jabs.Last year, was supposed to get a yearly check-up, that got cancelled, rearranged, cancelled and forgotten about. I'm thoroughly expecting the same to happen this year.Just remembered, needed a letter regarding my condition from the GP - just a simple ability thing. Got to the centre to collect it, they wanted to charge me £40 (as I recall).Had a prescription for eye medication - they sent me directly to Boots to collect; not on the system. Called and they remedied, went back to boots - still not on the system. Went to their designated chemist, NOT ON THE SYSTEM. They'd referred it to my old (4 year old) chemist in a different postcode. I drove all the way, eyes getting worse all this time, to be told they didn't have the stock. Eventually, back to the designated chemist, only to be told I could have bought the medication without a prescription anyway for half the price of the prescription! If you've got down this far, well done. If you're moving to the area, don't register here, they will only infuriate you. This is a lottery Medical Centre - you never know when you'll get through to them, if they'll see you, whether they actually read and prepare for your visit or whether they'll just send you on without looking or ask you to ring again tomorrow to go through it all again.FUND OUR NHS - but please, improve what service you provide... I feel like I'm falling between the cracks.

The worst experience I have ever had dealing with a doctors practice. The receptionist was exceedingly rude to me on the phone and showed a complete lack of empathy for my condition. She belittled the seriousness of my condition and argued with me about my inability to jump through the ridiculous hoops that the surgery has for getting an emergency appointment. I haven’t a good word to say about this doctors practice. Avoid at all costs.

Like many of the other 1 star reviews, our experience with The Hollies in the last year+ is appalling. A few years ago it was a great practice, but it’s been far from that for some time.If you ever get through by phone (I most recently waited nearly 3 hours on hold), the reception staff speak down to you, they’re rude, judgemental and extremely opinionated. They will always try and push you to go to A&E and have on numerous occasions attempted to make me feel as though I’m in the wrong for calling them, as though I’m wasting their time. We’re changing to another GP practice and I urge anyone to avoid this practice if all you are looking for is a well managed and functioning GP practice, as there’s plenty in Sheffield.

Incredibly efficient medical centre. Online booking process is a great system with a doctor calling back to discuss symptoms and appointment times. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Zero waiting time once in the 'waiting' room. My first time at Hollies for routine blood samples. As a squeamish needle-phobia person, nurse Jo couldn't have done a better job. I honestly didn't feel a thing. Highly recommended!

I'm rather impressed by The Hollies. The online booking system works well. The GPs I've seen have always been understanding and efficient. Certainly far better than previous GP surgeries I've been registered with.

This surgery has a significant issue with communication. I have had issues with referrals not being made (but being told they were), referrals being made in the wrong way so that the hospital doesn't receive them, not being told my test results, being spoken down to, not being told the surgery would be closed (resulting in me walking for 40 minutes to collect a sample cup but not being able to), and waiting 1 hour 20 for phone calls to be answered on more than one occasion. I tried to submit a formal complaint this morning via the email address listed for this specific purpose on their website. My email bounced back as their email address wasn't reachable. They are categorically incapable of communicating in an efficient and accessible manner.

Worst treatment ever . This place went from being a very good and v caring surgery ...To a now amateur , non caring one in regards 90%of the dr's and the awful receptionists. The former 2 receptionists were there years and very good , the better dr's (one is still there) have retired...what's left is awful ...truly awful.. they should be ashamed of the care they give or rather don't ... and pay for better trained receptionists who always sound half bothered whilst chewing gum .It used to be so good .

The Hollies medical centre is one of the least caring and most frustrating GP services I have ever had the misfortune to engage with. Firstly the system for booking an appointment is bewildering. Booking online there is a 30 minute window betwwe 8 am and 8.30 in which to make an appointment. If you miss that window you can try and call reception. But the Hollies very rarely pick up the phone. I have sat waiting for up to 20 minutes to have a call answered. When you finally get through you're often met with a sharp , officious and uncaring response. Getting an appointment on the same day is pretty much impossible even when you tell reception staff that your condition is possibly blood poisoning. Having the receptionist bark at you that this isn't an emergency service" is dispiriting when all you need is antibiotics but what you are asked to do is go to A+E for a six hour wait.People say the NHS is broken and it's GP surgeries like the Hollies which are the most broken. This place is absolutely crying out for a decent manager to help its patients avoid Emergency services at all cost."

Can't understand the other low reviews. This practice is the best one I've been to, and I've been to a lot! Really caring staff and efficient booking system which is fairly straightforward. The staff are professional and friendly and the ones I've seen are top of their game, particularly for women's health. With it being a training practice it tends to be really forward thinking and I've only found the medical staff to be considerate and competent - in spite of the demands put on them by external factors. I feel very safe in their hands. Excellent surgery. Really don't get the other reviews.
