I would have no one else take care of the funeral of a loved one. The team at Bangor did my Mum proud, particularly Mike with whom we had the most contact. Mike was professional and efficient while also showing empathy, dignity, respect and warmth. His recommendation for the celebrant, Rachel Smith, was perfect. My family, cried, smiled and laughed together with Mike. On the day, we really were able to celebrate our Mum's life as we made our final farewells. Thank you so much!

Very professional and compassionate service provided by John Gray's. They listened to everything that I wanted for my husband's funeral but it was the small things that they did that made it much more personal e.g. the rugby ball on his tribute page. Special mention must be made of Mike and Carolyn who responded quickly to emails and made what was a very difficult time slightly easier to deal with and the 2 undertakers Nicola and Angus who very respectfully took my husband's body from the house. I can't recommend the Team at John Gray enough. From the first point of contact with Sandra who offered compassion and empathy as well as information on a very difficult morning, to Mike who went above and beyond to ensure we were able to say goodbye to Dad in the way we wanted to. At each and every stage of a daunting process we felt entirely informed, supported, and confident that Dad and we were in good, professional hands. We are profoundly grateful.

Having previously dealt with Mike, I was very pleased when my initial face to face appointment was with him. After that I liaised with David. He gave much needed guidance in areas I was unsure of. Dealt with a third party on my behalf who were heavily involved in the service and sourced a videographer which accommodated family members in other countries. As it was recorded, those who were not available have been able to view the service at their convenience. David also very subtly gave me my ques on when to act during the service and at the graveside. I felt very supported during my time with John Gray & Co. I have availed of their service 3 times. I am sure I will again in the future.

I recently used John Gray & Co, Bangor for my mum’s funeral, having previously used another local funeral director for my father. There was no comparison between the 2. My mum was more than just another funeral for the staff at Grays. We were treated with kindness and empathy from my first contact with Carolyn in the office, the staff who brought my mum home: Mike, Brandon, Barry and Chris and the staff on the day of the funeral: Mike, Brandon and Eddie. Nothing was too much trouble. The office kept in constant contact with me about all the arrangements and a suitable time to bring my mum home, unlike the other funeral director for my dad, who literally just turned up at the door without a phone call beforehand.I have received so many comments about the bespoke order of service, using a painting which hung on the wall of her living room.Thank you to all of you who looked after my mum and my family. I have no hesitation in giving Grays of Bangor a 5 star rating.

From that first phone call to the day of my mother in law’s funeral, Carolyn from John Gray’s in Bangor dealt with us and she couldn’t have been more helpful, respectful, courteous and friendly to my husband and I. She took us effortlessly through the whole process and made what could have been a stressful time very easy. Mike was the funeral Director on the day and he also talked us through what to expect and he kept us right with all the little details. Lee and Nicola were our drivers and were so lovely to us all as a family by taking care of us on the day of the funeral. An hour after the funeral, beautiful flowers were delivered unexpectedly from John Grays to our home and this just says it all about them as a company. Caring from start to finish. All the staff at John Gray & Co that we dealt with were so compassionate and empathetic when dealing with our recent bereavement. From the initial phone contact at the weekend with Andrew, to our family meeting with Brandon in the Bangor office we were made to feel at ease despite our grief. Mike Smith, however, provided such an exceptional service that I feel he requires a special mention. Coming to the house to fine-tune all our arrangements - and making important comments about our Order of Service suggestions, we felt we were in the safe hands of a professional who had been providing this support for many years. His dignified approach made us feel so confident that everything would be ok on the day….and it was. Quietly steering us through an unfamiliar journey, and all the time keeping in contact in case we had any concerns or worries. Mum would have been proud.
