Tory Bush Cottages

David is a wonderful host. The cottages are very clean and comfortable and the peace and quiet are stunning. Could gaze at the Mournes all day long from our cottage. Just a fantastic location. Lots of terrific walks. Visitors should try Mourne Park near Kilkeel which is a deciduous forest owned and managed by the Woodland Trust. The river side part of the walk is a delight but the whole forest with its mature trees is so uplifting. We will make a return trip to Tory Bush as soon as we can.

We stayed in Tory Bush Cottages during July 2021 as a staycation. It was great to rediscover parts of Northern Ireland that we had never really seen, especially the back roads along stonewalled fields near the mountains.We stayed in cottage no.5, and it was spacious and well equipped, with a secure garden that is perfect for young children for families with pets. The kitchen is very well equipped and the cottage is really has everything you need.The accommodation is very well placed for walkers, it is just five minutes from the Trassey Track car park. Views of the mountains from Tory Bush are spectacular.David the owner is very helpful and encourages recycling in this eco-friendly accommodation which is run on renewable heating sources.

The cottages are clean and well equipped, based in a beautiful location tucked away in the Mourne Mountains. An ideal base for outdoor activities or just chilling. Very helpful owners.

Tory Bush cottages are very, very good. Beautifully kept and presented, superbly situated facing Bernagh and the northern Mourne Mountains and with the owner, David, always on hand for help, advice and local history.

Spotlessly clean, very well equipped kitchen, warm, comfortable and to cap it all, amazing views of the Mournes. Beautiful gardens and outside eating areas. Highly recommended.

Five stars aren't enough! Stayed in the Eco loft for 3 nights, so clean, comfortable and cosy. Very well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, good hot shower and the views are fabulous.The owner (and his lovely dog) were welcoming and helpful, will definately be back.

Everything you want from a holiday cottage... Clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a stunning location. The owner's commitment to protecting the environment is an added bonus, with ample recycling points provided. Although there are several cottages on the site you never feel crowded or overlooked - each one gives you a sense of privacy. You can choose from smaller, 2 person cottages to ones that cater for larger groups, and there are also a couple of cottages especially for those with dogs (with private gardens and where it's ok to allow your dog on the sofa). Once you've been here you'll find you return as it really is a home from home.

Was extremely lucky to get accommodation in Tory Bush just before lockdown ended. Was attending a funeral and there was no accommodation available elsewhere in the area. Was only able to stay for a short time but wish we could have stayed for far longer.Have stayed in self catering for years and Tory Bush ranks with the very best. The cottage was spacious, centrally heated, warm, spotlessly clean, equipped with everything one would want. The beds were extremely comfortable and there was an open fire in the living area - such a lovely way to relax after a long drive.I was most impressed with David’s commitment to the environment - plant based biodegradable cleaning products, recycled plastic bin liners and recycled toilet paper provided. No need to go searching for recycling bins for bottles or compostable material - all provided onsite.David is a most friendly, helpful man who was provided the very best in self catering in a most beautiful and spectacular area and, at the same time, taking such care of the environment.Don’t usually go on so long in a review but I was really blown away with the experience.
