Great guys working there, but York councils booking system was ridiculous... still had to queue behind 6 cars as normal. 1 star removed as a result.

Well kept. Pity can't dispose of rubble, pot etc..

Staff always helpful and kind have used this site for many years.

Closing time too early and won’t let in 15mm before stated closing time. Open later for people that actually work . Weekends are cueing onto road.

No Rubble allowed in this Tip and at James Street Tip the charge £7 per bag.

As a die hard Hazel Court Household Waste Recycling Centre fan I decided to make a change in my weekly routine and go to 'strenny tip' (as the regulars call it) and oh boy am i pleased i did. This tip is next level, especially the facilities, I particularly loved the on site fish and chip shop in which the fryer was fitted into the boot of an old 3 series bmw e30. The fish and chips were delicious although carp was a strange choice of fish to fry and the name of the 'chippy' was 'scraps' which I dont really understand because there was no option on the menu to get scraps with my meal (-1 star)Onsite frozen yoghurt bar was also available and a children's climbing frame inside the scrap metal skip although I did get told off for letting my child climb in and play on it, must have been closed. If non of that tickles your fancy there is a crazy golf course next door but they only provide a putter so I would recommend bringing at least 5 iron and driver from home.Would recommend to a friend if I had any.

In lockdown conditions it was run very well. Plenty of space, plenty of time to empty your car. Well run, great team.

Very helpful staff. Can be busy, you just need to pick the right time of day.
