It's okay, but definitely a bird watching site rather than a walk. You can walk along the coast to a few different other sites but the walk around the reserve is tiny! Very pretty though ☺️

Not the best of walks if you want a good clear un-obstructed views across to Yns Mon. Better using Porth Penrhyn as your start and finishing place.

Seeing a Kingfisher was a Bucket List item for me. At a local fair, a Welsh guy on a Cheshire Wildlife Trust stand said Spinnies was the place to go. So, I arranged to spend a couple of days in the Bangor area. Made 2 consecutive daily hour long visits to the Spinnies. The first day we saw Kingfisher(s) flying by, amazing moments. Went back the second day to try to get a photo of one but didn’t see any at all. So I wouldn’t say you are absolutely guaranteed to see them here, but I’m pretty happy with the tip to visit!

Great walk around admiring the views, beach and wildlife. Dogs taken and popular dog walking spot so beware if you have reactive dogs not well suited to numerous other dogs that'll also be in the area.
